I don't go to every match due to other priorities but never thought of myself as a day tripper I thought I was a Blades fan

I wasn't intending a negative connotation - but some people do make the extra effort to go to the first game of the season as a day out (although you'd pick bloody better places than Bolton to do so). If someone does go as a one-off and is telling regular fans to shut up and take the hit, is it not fair to point out that the latter incur further costs on a more regular basis than people making a one-off effort to go because it's the first game?

I'm not entirely sure of your need to be defensive about it. If you don't go to matches for whatever reason, fine. But don't tell those of us who do that paying £30 (well £60... there's two of us) every fortnight is fine and to get on with it.

It is relevant when you are buying the tickets and incurring the cost. It doesn't make anyone "better", the only people suggesting so are those defensive about not being able to go to every match when I have said nothing of the sort.

If it's a one-off, you might be happy enough to pay it. But I was saying spare a thought for those for whom it is not a one-off when saying to "shut up moaning".

It's quite laughable that those who don't go to matches want to have a go at those who do and have the cheek to mention it!

Perhaps not now... but if people don't complain about it the prices will increase. Look at the Pig prices for example.

No, she was making a pretty obvious point that those who go up and down the country week-on-week incur the costs of that, and have every right to be aggrieved.
And those who don't go often for whatever reason, have no right to tell her or anyone else to "shut up moaning".

The amount of games both Foxy and I attend is evidenced by the Twitter feed, where we post commentaries for those unable to attend. But maybe that's just being a "bigger Blade" and we shouldn't bother?

Bang on ,the only people who ever mention 'bigger blade' stuff is the people who don't go very often ,if at all. Why cant people who go all the time mention so and inform others about it ? Some choose to go all the time some don't ,get over it ,I go more than most but not as much as Foxy ,does that make me a middle to biggish Blade ? I go not only for Utd but because I like going with my mates for a day out ,Im going tonight because Im missing the first 2 and its a get together. I suppose its where you set your 'other priorities' ,I find I can move most of mine but Utd wont alter kick off times for me.
Off on another tangent I have been to more grounds and certainly more games than Foxy I reckon ,purely due to my age , so am I a bigger Blade ? When Im brown bread he will overtake me no doubt though

This "Bigger Blade" stuff has never washed with me. Fair play to those that can attend regularly, but there are those like me that cannot attend nearly as much as they would like to, for various reasons. But one thing I think we all share, regardless of how long we have been fans of the club, or how many games we go to, is that Sheffield United is our club.

To me it's a bit like being in a long relationship, they madden, they frustrate, there are times they totally do your fucking bonce in. But you can never really walk away, and do you know why? Because the good bits (when they happen) are why we do what we do. Seeing the winner hit the back of the net, or hearing the score on Five Live if you are somewhere else, still gives you that little jolt of joy. It can make a shit situation feel just that bit better. To me, thats what binds everybody who cares about the club.

Well, thats how it makes an old Crab like me feel anyway.

I have family who would go to more matches were it more affordable, but are forced to pick and choose. We're all Blades.

I would definately say Football is becoming more expensive. But the elephant in the room for me, is that whether it's Sky subscriptions, or people attending, plenty of people do those things. Whilever people are forking over the money, clubs will be more than happy to rinse them, the cycle will continue.

Think back to a few years ago with the fuel protests, as soon as people were struggling for the basics, because trucks couldn't be fuelled to deliver pretty basic things, we folded like a bad hand of cards.

As a nation, we will moan and bitch, but then we just bend over and keep paying.

Even if I was a hardcore giant blade going to every game and viciously boycotting the Bolton one, I'd still take issue with posts from fans that I believe to be taking the moral high ground over how many games they attend. Admin or not, attending 40 games, attending 2 games, all Blades are equal.
