I really like Bogle. But nobody's going to say it would improve Leeds defensively are they. So maybe that would hinder them overall.

Availability wise - he appeared in 34/38 league games last season, but before that had two seasons in Championship of 20 appearances and 18 appearances. Not great in 46 game seasons. Although admittedly we had Furious George first choice some of that time - there were plenty of injuries though.

The bottom line here will be financial thinking, if it's true.

Perhaps, but when you take into account that he doesn't want to sign a new deal, then we have to replace him next summer at the latest anyway. At least if we do a deal now we will get a transfer fee for him, instead of him walking for nowt.

What if you replace him with an actual competent right back that suits our team?
He’s great when fit and going forward, but he’s defensively suspect and inconsistent. For me he’s more of a right midfield, right winger at this level.

Srsly, I like Bogle and I'll be disappointed to see him go, but it means very little in the bigger picture.
 
Still thinking there's a PL level attacking midfielder in there if the right coach gets holds of him and they both commit...

If he stays as a RB then a career as a Championship calibre player awaits him

No, because you literally said "we may as well just admit we aren’t getting promoted" in response to selling our right back who is in the last year of his contract.

Doesn't want to sign a new deal, injury prone, (88 league appearances out of a possible 168 suggests on average he is injured for nearly half of every season) suspect defensively, free in 12 months.....

I would be snatching Leeds hands off for £4m.....we won't get anywhere near £7m.

Good player granted but if we force him to stay and see out his contract will he be 100% committed?

cash-in, move on.

Bogle is an underrated player by a lot of United fans. Last season, while somewhat patchy in form, he was one of the few players to show quality on the ball and attacking instinct. Accusations of being injury prone don't quite ring true - he had one major impact injury, followed by a teething period where the metal in his knee was causing problems. Since resolving that, he has shown good availability. Whether the injury or metal plate will cause a major problem down the line, we can't know until it happens.

We are losing the best right back in the league.

But don’t see that as an issue when selling him to the side we are competing against.

I expect the agent wants a tidy fee on a new deal if he does want to stay.

Although as we know with Wilder he wouldn't piss on an agent even if they were on fire. If there is another plus point to Wilder being in charge, he isn't prepared to let a players agent rinse the club.
