Begs the question of why do players that leave here seem to play better elsewhere ?
Is it the way we set up and play ?
Too rigid and no flexibility in the system ?
Players given strict instructions ?
Over thinking and more worried about the opposition ?
Or they just can't be arsed when here ?

Spot on re our set up...and it wont change until Wilder leaves for the final time. We dont create enough chances, have very little creativity or forward thinking in midfield, and have become very obvious and easy to defend against.

But hey, we dont concede many.
Gonna be a long boring season at this rate.

That resolute and compact game without Hamer is really yielding the goals isn't it.

Well, having watched last season and read comments on here, I'd say some opinions agree with my point. He was a luxury player, heavy in the tackle and when on the bench or suspended we played a different game on the front foot, regardless of the result.

Bogle was one of the few decent players in both our last 2 PL seasons and helped to win us promotion.

Bogle got massive pelters and looked lost in that wingback role. After a while you could see he was just fed up. Seriki looks the same right now. There was a player in him that was for sure and when he went to Leeds I thought 'good luck with that' but Leeds have brought a better, more tactically aware player out, especially since he has been playing in the top flight and with a better setup.

Egan helped to win us promotion twice and was almost ever present when we finished 9th in the top flight.

Yes he was, and as said, there was a brief spell when United resonated excellence and the whole squad had capability and drive. I think we know what that lineup was. Basham - Egan - O'Connell were a formidable back three and the 'overlapping centrebacks' trick was a game winner. Talk to me about how we struggled badly to replace JOC and how lost Egan looked with Bryan/Ampadu/Jags/Robinson playing alongside him. He couldn't cope.

Your closing point was not the point you made before and I was answering. Your point was "as soon as they come to Bramall Lane they turn to crap". Which is not true, although of course you will not admit that.

My point was that and I stand by it. Somehow, when they pull on Red and White they either stop scoring, lose the plot in midfield or can't play in the formation given. Of course this isn't a generic statement, but for many whom we expect a game out of when they hold up the shirt, it seems to be the case.

I would say that your opinion is not correct, by and large. It is not based on hard facts. It is a throwaway remark that does not stand up to scrutiny.

And various people have agreed. Where does that score on your chart? Brewster was pretty prolific when he was a kid knocking them in for Swansea, McBurnie also. It's why Wilder signed him. Remind me what Brewster's return was for his time at the club and his wages and fee, once again?

So 'we differ in opinion, and this is why', not 'you're wrong and start crying when told by board blowhards they are wrong.' And if just one person who was great and comes to United and is dogshit, then my opinion is right, however vestigial. As it happens, many players have underperformed in our colours yet as OP states right up at the top - they are doing quite nicely now on MotD in the PL. That is why you and I differ in opinion.
