Hello all, recorded a quite cathartic discussion with Roygbiv just now on the Plymouth game, the season as a whole, and what comes next for the club and Wilder (apart from the playoffs, duh). If you listen, hope you enjoy:

Really good pod guys and pretty much on the nail.
You reminded me about the Prince having to reign Wilder in at times regarding transfers, so it's interesting to compare the 2 windows...
Pre season - almost faultless really with not much money spent
January - average to poor, with the big Cannon signing truly baffling.
The difference being the Prince and his teams involvement and I believe Des Taylor.
Perhaps the Prince wasn't too bad after all.

Too late to change?

But what do I know? Given the knowledge and expertise on this podcast, maybe we should listen to the two SUFC reality supporters?

With 4 games left, changing our team selection or tactics is too much to ask of players and managers?
Even If we beat Burnley and lose the rest, we end up in the dreaded play offs. Any other side capable of finishing top six, will be sure to beat us anyway.
Play offs is a lottery! Anyone fancy us against any other club capable of making the top six? Me neither.
Great podcast and a good listen.

The main reason I want Wilder to stay is because he buys players with good old fashioned English names
Just to clarify Roy, he doesn’t buy players, he get the owners to buy players he says are gems. I know when United fans are getting serious about supporting the club and not the manager, it’ll be the day I can only pronounce a couple of the players names.

Great podcast and summed up where we are perfectly.
Somethings just not quite right with the team and we’ve not improved since August as you say, even with a considerable spend in Jan.
Also didn’t know that Wilder was wanting Peck out but the Prince over-ruled him - thank god for that as he’s been a bright spot in a largely boring season.

Afternoon all,

As the season petered out (competitively) over the Easter weekend, Roygbiv and I took this opportunity to look at some things that need to happen / change for United over the next few weeks to ensure we're in the best shape possible ahead of the playoffs. Cheers for listening if you do!

Great pod.

On the "new and interesting ways to lose in the playoffs" for me the obvious new way to lose would be to dominate the 90 mins in the final, be 1-0 up after 15 mins. Get sucker punched in the last minute and then either concede another one straight away, or lose to a fluke in extra time a la Luton scoring 2 from 0 shots on goal.

The other obvious new way is something involving the three letters we all fear could stop us from going up. No, not JLT.

V.A.R. (and specifically one of those that takes them 5 mins to resolve and it goes against us)

Afternoon S2 - as promised, Roygbiv looked back at every one of our previous 9 playoff campaigns to see what went wrong and what we might avoid this time as Chris Wilder's class of 2025 aim to deliver a Wembley win for the first time in 100 years. Cheers for listening!

Yep, that’s the one. I just can’t decide whether it’s going to be Luke Ayling, Norman Bassette or (the bookies’ overwhelming favourite) Jake Cooper.
