Blades v Pigs new manager..

The only ‘slight’ negative I can see with this is that it won’t give Wilder a chance to see how he sets them up. If he’s defensive then that won’t be as much of an issue as it should allow us to play our own game but if not then it might take us by surprise.

I've just had a look at reports from games he managed Augsburg and Hertha in. He always seems to go with 4 at the back and seems to like 4-1-4-1. I'd say it's a good bet he'll go with that against us.

Wilder will know exactly how he's likely to set them up.

But to be honest I don't see our basic approach changing.

Wilder doesn't worry about how other sides are set up. He sets us up to play in a particular way regardless of what the opposition do.

To be greeted by Blades singing

Only one Spanish waiter

As we slot in first

Only two Spanish waiter

As we slot in the second

Etc.etc.

Just as long as we make sure we don't give Adam Reach that spectacular opportunity.

Really? As if money's never talked. (And they've got money leaking out of their arsehole!)

I heard Nigel Pearson being interviewed by Radio Sheffield only a few months ago.

He admitted that he still has a lot of fondness towards Wednesday and he WOULD be interested in returning to management again.
But he said he currently enjoys his life and loves living in the Sheffield area with no intentions to move.
So said he could never manage Wednesday as it would bring pressure to him and his family.
He sounded serious too, flat out refusal to consider managing SW.

We need to bring some serious fire on the whole pigs team as they come into BL.

He may have had derrrbys in Germany but wait till you try one here.

It's going to be harder as it's the first game for them under a new management. Their injury list is ridiculous though and we should do them but they should have done us on paper back in August. I think it's brilliant in a way that we are going in as favourites as it shows how much things have changed but I always hate not being the underdogs in a derby.

Sheffield Wednesdays new manager has resigned after one game in charge. Wednesday travelled to Bramall Lane for the steel City Derby which saw the blades run out 7-0 winners. He was last seen storming out of the stadium shouting "fucking useless"

There is always an exception. Given the way that one panned out I doubt we'll see it again!:)

That comment from Wilder was last season. I think he gives the opposition much more attention in this division. Not to say that we change the set up, but pay attention to individual players

I wonder if he's ever faced the overlapping centre back concept. Agree with my namesake Rusty we need to hit them in under dog fashion. All together.

Porktalker: I've spoken to my German mate whose second club is Wednesday this morning..... believe me, it wasn't good listening.
The word, boring was used on more than one occasion.
Does he mean his mate is boring, or Jos? Germans have a reputation for being dull...

I find it telling that with all the ‘names’ available on the merry-go-round, they’ve had to get someone who’s been out of work for 18 months, no English football experience & a reputation for being defensive.
Couple that with recent results, the season ticket farce, the new CEO etc, they’re all over the place at the moment aren’t they on & off the field. That should bode well for us on Friday.
No complacency from Utd though.
Hoping for a convincing win by 2 goals. Dreaming of a drubbing!

I can understand anyone living in and having family in Sheffield not wanting to manage either club you only have to look at the shit the pig fans have posted on social media recently to see how your families can become the target of abuse.

I've never heard of this guy but then I don't follow German football. I know he's got a Dutch nationality but makes me wonder whether he's got the same approach as that Farke twat at Norwich? Boring & negative. I'm sure we'll have enough to beat them but

Works the other way too though, how many times in Germany will he have faced 3-5-2 with overlapping centre backs?

Bundeslige 2.... Anyone know if it's comparable in standard to the Championship?

I see they've probably hired him because he's had a few promotions

Wednesday's squad have shown they can turn in a performance when they want, 3-0 at Forest first game after Carlos left.
First chance to shine for the new gaffer in a league game may have a similar effect.
Add to that an ultra defensive, frustrating set up that we fail to break down and, as we've seen too many times before, get hit on the break/wonder srike.
I don't think this is going to be any where near as easy as we'd like.
Still hoping we beat them several nil though.

Are you sure that's the reason?
Or could it be he's linked to Doyen!!!???

It was probably a case of Doyen saying we've got a guy who's won 3 promotions from the German second tier why don't you take a look.

He hasn’t though, as he? I thought at least one happened after he had left.
