Might get announced tomorrow along with Henderson.

Bit of wishful thinking but it could happen.

Lys Mousset will score more Premier League goals than Charlie Austin next season. He'll have a better goals to games ratio too.

We know nowt about Mousset do we? Could be a wonderful signing, could be a complete flop. He’ll be playing in a good team that creates a lot of chances. So it will be a good opportunity for him. Beyond that we haven’t a clue.

As much as I don’t want to enjoy The Impatient Crew, even the Nottingham Forest reporter is saying this deal is dragging. A lot of our deals have dragged this Summer, even when they’re as good as done. Does make you wonder why.
Probably same as Osborn - we're going for a bit less payment up front but more in add-ons!

Think you need to worry more about things in your life you can influence as opposed to things you can’t.

I’m not worried at all. I know the deal will happen. It’s better to have it done quicker, but a day or two doesn’t make a great deal of difference. I just think it’s interesting, maybe even worth discussing, that our deals have dragged this Summer.

Dont be worried LB89
Our deals take a long time because of our unique approach to Moroccan Market haggling and working on the player we're buying becoming unsettled.
This doesn't ever happen as the player seems happy to remain in a lower division, unless it's our players, then they absolutely want to leave when a higher placed club comes in for them and if they dont get their move they'll create trouble because of their obviously stinking attitude

You talk as if the blades are the only ones who fall for this approach !! It happens all the time and most professionals have a dream of playing in the premiership.how do you think Osborn has arrived ! We have got him at a good price. Why do you always have to bring the blades down ?
Footballers call the shots these days and when a player shows a desire to move they get there way and that goes all the way up to world class players.
An unhappy player is a bad player ! best to move on let the go !.

Whoah, whoah, whoah tiger! You’re striding out onto the thin ice! There’s no room for the mildest of critique here, without the caveat of ‘in CWAK we trust’. It’s quite obvious to everyone, that whatever happens is for the greater good, remember where we were 3 seasons ago. ;)

I think he's joining in instalments!

Maybe its due to the fact that because we're in the Premier League now selling clubs are making unreasonable demands and we're just making sure we don't get shafted and end up with players on ridiculous contracts that could fuck us up long term.

Three seasons ago, we were used to cutting low level deals down a few divisions.
Now we are applying he same criteria to deals at the very top. The incentive is better for incoming players, but the deal needs just as much thought and handling of fine details on a 10m pound deal, as it did in division one for half a million. Maybe more so.
On Wilder's criteria alone, you need to understand the player and why he wants to come. Then there's the selling club, players agent, and our own board to consider. Don't forget, this is the first year he has been buying players from non native countries.
Meanwhile, the players who got you here are starting to rumble about money. Wilder will only spend money like it's his own. So the door to door salesmen, (Duffy's agent) get short shrift. It's a distraction he doesn't need right now.
The club transfer team have had to cope with rapidly changing circumstances, but keep the focus on what Wilder wants. Not an easy task. Let them get on with it, and let him manage the team. It's what he does best.

We’ve got a finite budget and we’re squeezing out every drop. We also don’t do bad deals now and aren’t a soft touch.

That sort of connected thinking has no place on this forum. :)

That’s a good educated guess (I assume) and I thought the same thing. I just wondered if anyone actually knew. You listen to the majority of football fans, with some exceptions, and they’ll tell you their clubs aren’t soft touches in transfer dealings (Brentford fans, anyone?). So it just felt a bit too easy to say that for me without supporting knowledge.

I think you shouldn’t come onto a forum to discuss and debate if you believe that everything discussed on a forum can be influenced by said members...ridiculous thing to say..

I was just asking a straight forward question. No criticism at all. There’s no need for people to be so defensive.
No criticism intended LB89. Billyblade offered a reasonable reason why this deal (and others) are dragging on, and I agreed. We all need to relax a bit in this hot weather and see how things pan out. If nothing has happened by deadline day then I might be a bit more agitated. :)

I sent that post while being rained on in mid 20 degree heat as I walked to work. So I think your point is a fair one 😅. Onwards.

It’s easy to Chuck money about and when your income is £100 mill what’s the point of arguing about the odd million but a million pounds can buy a lot if you ignore transfer fees. For example spent on a scouting network/team, increasing facilities for supporters, funding the academy etc. It’s the old look after the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves.

For a minute there I thought you were having a go at the club you support, but then I saw who posted it and my thoughts were confirmed. Pretty sad really, at this, one of the most exciting times in our footballing lives.

It will be that £26.59 that Bolton owe us which is slowing us down.

More likely down to the existence of cancerous parasites called agents, and God bless him, CW’s dislike of them. I do realise that this opinion will not suit your agenda per se, but it’s one you might consider.
