He's taken a lot of stick over the years at Forest. He's very much marmite, people either love him or hate him.

In my view the main reason he has taken stick is he is no match winner, he's played over 200 games and I can think of 3 games off the top of my head where he has made a serious impact to win a match, about 150 of those 200+ in attacking positions. He also has this annoying habit of doing pointless Cryuff turns which get him into trouble a lot.

He's played almost every position. A good thing or a bad thing? It can be both. He's incredible useful as a squad player but he was never seen here as the best in any position, but the main issue is nobody knows what his best position is and in 200+ games, that can be a problem.

The main reason people love him is his desire. Been in the Forest side for 6 years and can't recall one period where he was injured or didn't give 100%. He will give everything for the shirt and just get on with his business quitely.

My personal opinion of Ben is that he's best at left-wing back (too small for LB, too limited for LW) and I think Wilder will love him like almost every Forest manager has, but he has weaknesses in his game and hasn't really pushed on enough in his 6 years playing. At the rumoured 3-5m I think it's a great deal for both parties. A change of scenary for him could be the thing that pushes him on as let's be honest we have been in a bit of a state since he has been in the team.

I think in 12 months time we will see a completely different Sheffield United. Hopefully, the one constant will be CWAK but already the squad has been transformed and this work will continue in order to establish the club in the PL and all that entails. Legends and loyal servants will be replaced. That's football.
 

His interview is fantastic. He’s exactly the type of player we should be signing. Brilliant stuff.

An excellent interview by Ben Osborn today, seems a really level headed, intelligent character. He looked neat & tidy at Brighton & certainly determined, but he lacked authority & was physically dominated.

I hope he shows us a lot more aggression on Sunday & takes his chance. Stevens' performances have dipped over Xmas so it could be a great opportunity.
 
Was thinking of starting a thread on him.

He's just been the 'background man' so far. Rarely in thoughts or discussions.

But I think there's a player there with a lot to be offer just waiting for his chance. He could play a big part in the second half of the season.

I think a lot of players will tire. Even Enda, who isn't above being rotated for a game or two.

He should possibly come off the bench more often as well. He has the energy and drive to give us a real boost, and will look after the ball. He has the ability to make sure we maintain a strong attacking threat down the left side late on in games.

Not a player to forget about and write off.

I hope he takes his chance emphatically on Sunday.
 
Think we’ll be seeing a bit more of him as we manage the fixture demands once the season restarts. Which, given how he’d been in his last few appearances before the pause, would be no bad thing at all.

He’s a top guy. Very articulate, humble and intelligent.

Had the fortune to chat with him a couple of times. Really want the lad to do well with us, as he has so far in his limited appearances.

Just the personality our management specialises in recruiting and keeping.

He always enjoys the bantz while warming up, and enjoys high quality literature. He’s a very dependable player too!
