Keep safe and Thank you.
As others have said if you want any old Blades shirts to pass around then let me know.
Better on the streets of Baghdad than hung in my wardrobe.

UTBB!

Yea the shirt thing is a good idea. Does anyone know who I should contact at the club. I will also arrange a collection of shirts from those people who have kindly offered if you re serious? The Iraqi lads currently play in old England strip - would look much better in Red and white!

What about this for an idea, we must all have a spare shirt we could let go, how's about we all drop one off for Baghdad to take back to the Iraqis? Would be great to see loads of Iraqi kids on telly running round in Blades shirts!
At the moment I'm off work so could do some local picking up/delivering etc if donators couldn't drop off but it would be good if, as mentioned above, the club shop could afford a bit of storage space, after all most of us who live locally get to the Lane once a fortnight, don't we? :)

Could this be too logistically difficult Baghdad Blade ?

Could it be something the club might be interested in backing for a bit of decent PR Rooks ?

Dead serious, lets make it happen, but we must have a picture.

Sounds good Tyke 1889. I travel back to Iraq every other month and the company I work for also have shipments of equipment sent over. There are also 2 other lads who work with us who could carry it in their baggage if I gave it them!!

The Iraqis are great people and and they love the Brits. This is where the critical fight against IS will be won (inshallah) over the next few months.

The Iraqis asked me 'are the Blades as big as Man United and City?'

I obviously replied 'Bigger'

Inshallah in it's other meaning is bane of my life! I'm in Doha and here most people use it in the "I'll do it when I can be fucking arsed pal" meaning. Very frustrating!

The majority of Arabs over here only know Chelsea FC, Kensington and Harrods as it's where they pop for the weekend when they've bought everything they can here!

Rooks is your man to contact I think. I've got numerous spare shirts you can have. Stay safe pal, up the Iraqi blades

Good stuff Baghdad Blade

Nice to see we have a footprint where it matters, and you are making it.

Take care, stay safe.

Awesome post, brought a tear to my eye. My brothers in the Terriers, and I have a lot of time for our brave lads and lass's.
Dad was in the war in the RN and my wife's Dad was on beach D-Day plus 2. We don't know how lucky we are.

No buddy! Have read it though!

It's strange but looking at the forums when you are away makes you feel like you re at home. I can't wait for Saturdays and trying to get updates - makes the time fly!

Totally agree Baghdad. Did the same during my 5 years in India. Keep up the good work, I managed to convert plenty of India Man Utd and Chelsea fans to the Blades during my time, they loved watching play-off final defeats and FA/League Cup semi defeats with me online!!!! UTB FIS

Mad Mick, thanks for your kind words! Now D-Day must have been something altogether different and beyond comprehension. The Iraqi lads here are doing what they do to try and make their families safe and make a better iraq. I found this was also the case in the British Army where the lads were fighting to help other people but also to fight for their comrades and brothers in arms - it was never because we believed in the Governments goals.
Chris Wilder has managed to install the same cohesion and fighting spirit in the Blades in such a small time frame - amazing to do this so quickly! Hopefully it will continue! UTB

If it helps bring a smile to people who have unspeakable horrors to deal with, I'm all for it.
I've got a few that I'd happily pass on. If you give me an address via PM, I'll get them sent to you. :)
