What makes a player hard as nails?

Arguing with your own players? Like he tried with Vini Souza

Trying to argue with your own fans? Like he has done multiple times

Attempting to break the opponents legs when a standard slide tackle would suffice?

I don't think he is terrible he I a half decent champ CB who have fans have made into the next Chris morgan when he ain't a tenth of Morgs
Turning up for a bare knuckle fight in a park in Liverpool.

Could see this one happening with Trusty going to Celtic, and United bringing in Johnston in reverse, and Mepham coming in to be Trusty's replacement -funded by the difference in the fees from the Celtic player swap.

Be a good bit of business in that case, regardless of how i rate Trusty, two players are better than 1.

To be fair a tenth of Chris Morgan is one hell of a centre half 😄

Wouldn’t mind that 🤷‍♂️

He's six foot three and pretty quick.
He's very genuinely not quick....he was exposed over and over again last year and yes, against Premier League players but not by them doing anything remotely premier- just purely exposed for pace.

Despite last season I can see half an argument for keeping him, in that he had potential coming to us and genuinely can't perform that badly again.

I can also see that for a season like that to not drop someone's value and us coming out breaking even on him is bloody unbelievable.

But if we need a left sided centre half who's comfortable on the ball and has pace, they're his 2 weakest points.

Our entire transfer window has been an eye opener for me and this one (assuming true) encapsulates it.

With the eye test, I really don’t rate trusty. He seems like a decent sort and he’s tall/athletic with a decent touch for a Center back. But if I was a scout I wouldn’t go near him. He lacks composure, positioning and aggression - three things I would say are critical for a CB.

But there must be something in the data that shows he is a high potential player. There’s no way a club the size of Celtic are looking at him without some stats to back it up. His age must be one thing. But what else?

Btw I’m not saying let’s sell him on the cheap just because I don’t rate him. More a comment on how modern recruitment works. I’m shocked we’ve got our money back for last year’s signings. But we have, so maybe buying young players based on potential isn’t much a great risk.

I thought someone would comment on that, I went to edit that part to - 'Celtic will want to improve in Europe' but it timed out when I read it back. I agree they will never dominate.
By the time you'd read it back and it timed out Celtic were already out of Europe for another year.

Celtic just brought in the Barca LB.

Will they continue to pursue AT ?

UTB
Not sure Celtic signing a left back stops their pursuit of our centre half. Trusty filled in at LB for us last season, he did well against Liverpool but markedly worse against everyone else.

He was exposed for pace and positioning for Barnsley's goal last night. Let's hope Celtic weren't watching that !

He met a professional boxer for a fight in a Liverpool park after an altercation in a nightclub- apparently gave a good account of himself 😂

Mmmm, I trust the source.
Wonder if the bid has been rejected to drive the price up or because we want to keep him.
Interesting if they go up to £7m which will then enable us to meet the apparent required price to sign Cannon

I'll bet the Prince gets more than we paid for him 🤣🤣 Celtic have got £25m burning a hole in their pocket, they'll pay a bit more.

Problem is, we need players already without letting others go.

I don't mind giving Trusty a run in the side this season.
