£5m would be good.

We could go and buy Johnstone and then hopefully a replacement centre back.

I understand the 'Premier League' experience bit but the issue is he was absolutely honking. As much as Souza, Anel and others got panned last year they've at least shown something at times. Also his left foot is terrible. He can't pass and technically he is about League 1 standard.

However it's his total lack of awareness, defensive positioning, aggressiveness and aerial ability that are the main concerns regardless of his lack of ability on the ball.

I don't ever see him amounting to much at all and expect him back in the States for good within 3 years.

If anyone is willing to give us anywhere close to our money back then I'd snap their hands off. There is no one giving us 8 million. I think 4 or 5 is a major push.

I'd rather see young lads like Sasnauskas given a chance if Robbo/JLT are not available.
How honking do you think 90% of the Celtic first XI would be?

They’ll want 10m+ for Carter-Vickers and he’s no better than Trusty.

I’m not saying don’t sell him. I’m saying don’t accept the first bid.

5m and Johnston is about right. Then you need to find a left footed centre back for a similar amount of money, which won’t be easy.

If we're playing a back four we need two left centre backs with the height and physicality to play there. At the minute we have one (Trusty). If we're moving to a back five moving Trusty on is less of a concern.

Just imagine us rejecting 5m......

That would be an astonishing offer. I thought we'd have been lucky to get 2.5m

A 5m defender ideally should have some strengths. Trusty doesn't have any

If ever there was a 'take the money and run' this is it

Trusty does not have any physicality. He is poor in the air and routinely loses challenges/headers. I'd rather RND play there even in a 4

Depends what they've bid before? They may have already come in with 2 or 3 and gone up to 5.

Carter Vickers was young when he was with us. Admittedly Scotland standard is poor but I still think he has more attributes than Trusty bits I have seen and a few Prem clubs are looking at him. No Prem club will look at Trusty.

I'd say Ben Davies was better than Trusty and he was poor too and Rangers have offloaded him to League One.

I think negotiating is right but I'd genuinely not be too greedy as in a year we will think why did we just not take the money offered.

Breaking even on Trusty would be an outstanding piece of business. Yes we'd want a replacement in but I would play either of the two we've got in-house ahead of him at the moment.

He's six foot three and pretty quick. Both big advantages over the other options we have. I'm happy to move him providing there's two replacements coming in or a move to a back three. Our other options aren't anywhere near good enough physically in a back four. The QPR game is the warning.

I think selling Trusty would be a bad idea we haven't given him a proper chance at his proper Position LCB

I thought he was very good at LCB at Norwich and he should be starting at LCB over that clown JLT

Birmingham fans raved about him when he signed and we have sold him down the river playing out-of-position Left back against the best wingers in the world last season

£5 Million is what you pay for a decent Centre back at this level we would just be paying the same for someone who may not be good enough all that with 3 days left of the window

surely has to be a deal here with trusty going one way and johnstone the other but trusty can go for me

If he was not ex Arsenal he would have very little value, if we get £5m it would enable us to buy a development centre half from the lower leagues and contribute funds to two decent loans or a striker

As someone who watches a lot of Blades and Celtic, CCV is way better than Trusty.

Guess it depends on whether Trusty wants to go and whether we have an adequate replacement lined up.

He is apparently interested in playing champions league football for Celtic. Now that would be fun, remember him against Arsenal

Most sensible post that you've ever made on here. Keep it up 👍

Sign anybody to replace him

Criteria: 2 legs, 2 arms, a pulse

We will not get anywhere close to 5m for him in a years time

Celtic fans asking on twitter if he could make the step up to the SPL..

“UP” ???
He’s played against stronger opponents already this season than he will ever face (domestically) at Celtic.

He will look amazing up there and Chelsea will end up buying him next summer for around £45m on a 9 year contract

Robinson is no clown

Honestly, I've no idea what they're seeing in him. It will be a really good move for Trusty, I'm sure he'll probably want to go. If Anel/ Trusty leave this week we're seriously short at the back. We can't rely on RND being the go-to for cover either.
My guess is they know slightly more about football than 85% of our fans.

I actually quite like Trusty, I think he’ll be decent in the Championship but surely Celtic are thinking of bettering themselves in Europe etc. They’ve dominated the SPL for years & there next step is to do that in Europe.

If that’s the case I don’t think Trusty can be trusted at that level. He was great vs Liverpool at home but I can’t think of any other game against the ‘big 6’ where he didn’t struggle.

In the interests of everyone concerned for him to be sold.
Part of the worst defensive unit in History, confidence shot he needs a fresh start and the club needs a reset back there.
We’ve completed most of it just Anel, Robbo and Trusty to go

No clown but he is error strewn footballer prone to calamitous mistakes. Hards as nails granted - but back up only if desperate.

What makes a player hard as nails?

Arguing with your own players? Like he tried with Vini Souza

Trying to argue with your own fans? Like he has done multiple times

Attempting to break the opponents legs when a standard slide tackle would suffice?

I don't think he is terrible he I a half decent champ CB who have fans have made into the next Chris morgan when he ain't a tenth of Morgs

If there is one player who deserves a bit of lack its trusty

New team constantly in and out of the team played out of position last year what do you expect ?
