This has got 'bad news' written all over it.

So we’re still trying to resurrect his career and ultimately his life so the ideal scenario is to possibly send him to a club managed by Joey Barton? Deary me!

Alan Biggs is saying he understands Ched's loan WILL be a season-long loan now, not just until January. Could mean we're confident of/close to getting a striker in?

It is a season loan with a review around Christmas.

Basically if he is finding form we have the option of a recall.

Could mean Wilder sees no future in him but doesn’t want to cause upset for no reason.

From the Poundshop Partridge show tonight, sounds like it’ll be announced as season-long with an option to reassess at Christmas. According to Wilder, with the players ahead of him, and the expected players coming in, his opportunities will be limited and it’s best he gets 15-20 regular starts elsewhere to get him up to speed.

Ched is no where near the first team atm.

Get him some game time and see if that helps - if he still can’t get fit or up to the required level we should just cut our losses imo.

Unless we have a spate of injuries or Ched has 20 by Jan 1st, I doubt we’ll see him again this season if at all.

Internally, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is one of those the club’s progress has left behind.

Wilder was keen to stress he’s still very much part of the plans, but yes I think that will be the reality of it come the end of the season unless it is a particularly strong loan spell. If he’s notched 5 in say 20 games come January I think he will be left there for the season.

Fleetwood have just announced James Wallace, blimey, wonder what Ebbrell's doing these days :D

This brings back memories: “We want to get him fit and get him on the pitch, because if we do, we feel he can be a huge asset to us.”

Much as I admire his tenacity, he played 18 minutes last season. How has he not retired yet?!

On the subject of Wallace it really is gutting.

At the times he was actually on the pitch for us he looked a class above, and if not for his cruel luck with injuries would be playing in the premier league. What a player.

Best of luck to him and Ched.

Must be someone coming in to play up front.

Wilder has been consistent in saying that Ched would be going on loan til January and suddenly it's a season long loan.

Wilder must have had a breakthrough with a striker signing. He was adamant it was only until JTW. 2/3 strikers surely inbound.

Edit: Now aware he mentioned there was the option to assess in January.

Agreed. He looked a real specimen as well physically, bit of a cruel joke of nature for him to have the issues he has had.

Wilder said last night that it’s a year-long loan with an option to recall him in January.

I agree though, the fact this has finally gone through indicates we’re confident in bringing at least one striker in very soon.

He said it was a season-long with an option to reassess things in January – not only how he’s doing, but the needs of the squad and what’s best for all parties. Completely clear, very consistent.
I apologise then. I assume this was the interview with Biggs which I haven't seen yet.

EVANS JOINS BARTON'S FLEETWOOD ON LOAN

Ched Evans has made a season-long loan move from Sheffield Wednesday to Fleetwood.

The former Wales international, who was in his second spell at Bramall Lane, had failed to break into Chris Wilder's side and thought a loan period and regular football would benefit him.

The 29-year-old became Joey Barton's eighth signing of the summer on Friday and trained for the first team with his new teammates at Poolfoot Farm.

bloody SSN

I think it will take a long injury list in January and him scoring for fun at Fleetwood to see him back here this season. In fact I think we won't see him in a Blades shirt again.

Hopefully the fact it's announced now means we'll be getting a couple of strikers in very soon.
