Wilder, not so good with transfer market?’

Don't know about you but I absolutely love seeing the Blades win.

I love seeing us score more goals than the opposition and getting 3 points every week. I love seeing us move up the table and getting promoted. There's nothing better.

That's the whole point of football.

Neil Warnock was better at doing all of that than Chris Wilder is (so far).
Warnock got us one promotion and one relegation in 8(?) seasons with us.
His promotion team scored 76 goals

Wilder got us one promotion and no relegations in 2 and a half seasons, allied with playing better football than any of Warnocks teams.
Last season we scored 62 goals whilst finishing 10th

Also the financial gap between teams in the Championship was negligible compared to what it is now for Wilder.

You really can't compare the two :)

Chris Wilder is my favourite Blades manager of all time.

I honestly never thought I'd see my team win the league but Wilder actually did it. It was a dream come true for me.

None of this changes the fact that Bassett and Warnock were better than him. They took us to the top division. End of debate.

Unless Wilder gets us into the Premier League he'll never be in the same category as them.
Slowly slowly catchy monkey eh PN?

I agree with that in principle mate, although I don’t think it’s easy to compare seasons decades apart when maybe the vast wadge of parachute payments wasn’t as big an advantage as it is now. And let’s be honest, 2002/3 apart, old Neil’s football was fooking shocking.

Disagree with you at times but your last 2 paragraphs are spot on , fair comment
Ahhh that’s cleared it up. I always thought Southgate could piss all over Robson.

COME ON!!

You keep trying as hard as this to make your point and I’m eventually gonna believe you PN.

I don't want to get into an argument with you guys, but we are seeing some of the best football I've seen for years. That said it's a bit early to say Chis Wilder is the best ever. I would also add John Harris to the list of the other two being mentioned.

I think some people have missed the point, what CW has done for us has been amazing, playing the best football I’ve ever seen at the Lane, and only 2 and 1/2 years in he is being strongly selected as our greatest manager ever. I think possibly the best point made has been that if he has made a mistake he rectifies it extremely quickly.
I would always have faith in anyone he signs or wants to sign, like people have said the amount of gems he’s signed, he’s always gonna get some wrong.

Wow what an interesting thread.
My take, briefly, is that CW in his first season improved is by 12 places (champions). In his second season he improved is by 14 places, and this season so far we see another 7 places of improvement. All this has been done with a transfer SURPLUS, and playing a brand of football that is the envy of neutrals throughout the land, including some from the Premier league.
Long may he continue 'making mistakes' in the transfer market.
I'd like to hear of another manager who can get anywhere close to the record I have just described.?

Apparently Neil Warnock getting us into the PL for a season is far superior to any of that 'brand of football envied by neutrals' bollocks!

Personal abuse is against forum rules, infraction given.
Not all signings are here to play first team games. Riley was never going to come in and kick Freeman out of the side when he scored 10 from RWB.

Kean Bryan here to cover JoC not here to replace him.

We earnt money on Leonard and Evans.

If you did the list properly and only included first team players then fair enough.

Basically the OP is wrote by a prick.

I'd give you a like, but your last line spoiled it. No need for that in my opinion.

If you’re bottom fishing, you gather more shit.

And a good number of those signings were quickly moved on for a profit.

I’d rate Wilder’s transfer activity, given the budget, as truly remarkable.

I’m amazed that anyone would argue otherwise.

Oh trust me, they will.

I think someone is mischievous. You decided to play about and manipulate figures and signings to get a reaction and well done, it worked for you. But, as others have pointed out you are so far off the mark it is untrue.
Ever considered working for the Government?

I tried that and got ink right down my jap’s eye.

A definite overreaction to the OP imho
If there's one thing I dislike about this forum it's when somebody makes an unpopular post, yes if it's done as a wind up have a go but the OP here has put considerable effort into evaluating the signings to make a point. Yes he's made mistakes but do we really need a 'round the table' series of abuse? That's why some people get driven away from the forum.
