I know I mentioned this before Christmas, but now the evening is fast approaching, I figured it would be worth a quick bump...

The S24SU admins and a few members who have already confirmed will be in attendance in what should be a good night in the recently refurbed Old Crown.

So why not join us for a few beers and listen to the man himself?

Tickets are available from the Old Crown, from Wayne at Matchday Support on the number below, or if you want me to sort you tickets, give us a shout in this thread.

For those who can make it... still tickets available, get yourselves down!

For those who can't, keep an eye on our Twitter/site for coverage.

Could someone ask him if he's interested in a comeback to take corners and free kicks?
It would be nice to see a decent one for once in a blue moon.
We have a vacancy for a player who can't move now Baxter is out 'injured'.

Will the actual FA Cup be there? If so, what are the chances of it departing London Road dent-free?

I love these events and the "an evening with" at the lane. I see the Twitter feed on the main page has the answers but I can't see the questions. I'm not on Twitter. Any chance of a transcript? Or an overview of the choice ones?

Very unique access and honesty at these events, I highly recommend attending if you've not.

Any others planned?

Cheers

A top night out!

Heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in organising this event, oh and Foxy for posting it here.

We also got to find out which James hunt finished TC's career.

Raised a few bob for charity, too.

Another proud to be a Blade night!

I've just read the Q&A highlights on Twitter but I don't really tweet.

So many thanks on here to Foxy and Linz for making the effort and keeping us informed.

I hope I can make the Chris Morgan one!

In a word - nope :)

Sorry. No time to sit and type out 2.5 hours worth of talking.

EDIT: Foxy says there might be some videos, but as this wasn't our night, we'd have to talk to the chaps at Matchday Support before releasing them. There may be a requested donation.

I can only encourage people to come down and support these events if they can. It's sad that a charity like Matchday Support has to exist with the billions awarded to the Premier League, but as the trickle down doesn't work, someone has to step in to help kids get to and play football where they otherwise wouldn't be able to.

Particularly as this is not a club event and is held off-site in the Old Crown. It gives it a closer feel... and the beer's cheaper.

Chris Morgan is the next one planned for this side of the city, but booking him in may mean this doesn't occur as soon as hoped. (The dreaded play-offs).

There are going to be ones for the other lot too if anyone is feeling particularly charitable.

Who runs the Crown at the moment?

Andy Rushworth... former manager of the Abbey snooker club. He's also got the Albion.

Old Crown is tied, but the Albion is a free house and both have had a bit of a spruce.

'Proper' pubs are a dying breed unfortunately.

Pete, an old workmate of my Dads, used to run the Crown - not seen him for a while, lost touch when I moved away, not sure when he left the Crown to be honest. Always enjoyed it in there though.
