In a way the win against Middlesbrough hindered our perception of other performances. In that game we had a glimpse of how we can play fast, attractive attacking football that entertains the fans. Then 90% of the rest of the games are balanced on a knife edge with us hanging on then with one or two bits of individual brilliance snatching a winner after being outplayed.

Wilder is the man to get us promoted with the later style of play. Imo he’ll be a liability int PL. in the PL they’ll be no hiding place again playing like we are.
Do you think that if we DO get promoted to the PL, COH won't provide CL with appropriate funding for PL recruitment?

Would hope so but this to me is a 2 stage project.
1. Get promoted with scruffy results, deffo Wilders territory.
2. Build a skilled side (including international players) that can get a toehold in PL and stay there while we develop an international scouting and youth development system to get us top half club. NOT Wilder territory.

He had the second biggest budget in the PL from PA and blew it (not going over it player by player we’ve done that to death).

We need a Villa or Bournemouth type manager with modern tactical skills not a bloke who can grind results out week in week out, Wilder belongs with the old greats like Warnock, Cooper, Dyche, Mobrey, et al. He 100% Blade and has delivered to 100% of his capability but the games changed and we need a technical coaching team for phase 2 to meet the new demands. He even confuses AI with data analytics.

I don’t dislike Wilder I love what he’s done for us (although I think his drinking, singing like a BBC member leaves a lot to be desired as a role model). Give Wilder a place, a title and a pay off but step him aside or 23/24 all over again.

If COH don’t provide the backing then keep him cause next season we’ll be back int Championship.

Maybe Wilder and Des Taylor will get better players this time round 🙂
