Crazy. If it works and we go up then great, but what if it doesnt? We've spent £10m with nothing to show for it
That's one way of looking at it. The other side is we're bringing in players we simply do not have the funds (wages and fees) or stature to carry off so if we're looking at perms we'll be fishing in a different pond.

Parachute payments mean for this season in particular we have an increased budget will decreases significantly from next season onward. You sign perms then you are committed to the fee likely over those 3 years, as well as the contract. At 40k/week that £2M per season over 3/4/5 years, plus the fee.
If you loan then you are only committed to that season, and I think ours loans will probably be heavily linked to our performance, ie if we go up we pay out extra.

The big bonus of it, and the reason I thought it would be the way we go, is if we have a bad season we're not crippled by the investment. The loans go back, you'll need to sell a few to cover our day to day losses, but you then have the youth to bring through. If it goes well, we could always look to sign some of them like Davies, or even loan again for players out of our grasp, as we did with Hendo.

For me the loans are a smart way to tightly control longer term cost while bringing in superior players for a fixed period therefore giving Promotion a real good go without risking the longer term future of the club. It also allows us to see better players representing us each week than we would have seen otherwise.

Agree with all that. We could seem a good team on paper without actually owning most of our team. A little bit like Fulham did last season.

I actually like the Prince, I'm slightly worried about Slav's start but he has a great track record. We're desperate for fresh blood asap

You could be right then but I am meaning about all our targets in the last 12 months that have signed for other clubs when it seems we are leading the pack for their services . We seem to always fall at the final hurdle .

Cheapskates

We knew vieria hadn’t played in months
Garner gone to forrest
Diallo doesn’t look like happening
11 days left, one signing. Needed 5. We chased vieria and garner all summer and got neither

Your negativity is all based on media/social media rumours.

Manager and board may have 100 plates spinning but we wouldn't know because it's supposed to be secret.... Bizarre that some forum members have to remind everyone else of this (every day).

We also have to pay fees.
True. But we can't just add up the wages of a loaner and say it's dead money. A purchase player can be the same wages plus the purchase. The purchase money might be recouped later, or maybe not.
I don't think Mitch else can be done in the time Slav has had. Rammers will be even more the case. A berg replacement if that happens even harder.

And they have now said;

No, there is quite an extensive shortlist and Diallo is not at the top of it, he'd be fantastic and hopefully it comes off but as we said on our Ben Davies video we didn't feel the Diallo one was that likely.
I do love Nick and YorkBlade channel.

I'm very curious at which point they became ITK.

I do know they don't post inaccurate nonsense on there but from the earlier stuff they didn't seem to have much opportunity to get ahead of the curve.

My guess is either they have come across a player with links to the club that might share stuff or that they maybe message Darren on occasions who is closer to the Prince to make sure what they don't spout doesn't jeopardise anything inflight.

Rmamers being an example. Clearly things were moving and it might have been irresponsible to overshare before things got concluded.

Anyway, GLTTLLL

Kevin Gage.....🤣🤣

I'd love it if we pulled this off. The biggest restriction on the move for me would be the fact Manchester utd paid 25-40 million for him. Regardless of how much game time he gets for us, dropping down a league would hamper his reputation, especially if he doesn't perform well. Is he and agent / man utd willing to take that risk? Henderson was different as he came through their set up.

Don't forget he's played less than 10 senior games his entire career.

A loan just to get games under his belt might do him good.

Ivory coast manager is also pushing for Diallo to go on loan

Ivory Coast manager Patrice Beaumelle has told BBC Sport Africa that Amad Diallo should consider leaving Manchester United on loan, amid rumoured interest from Crystal Palace.

Beaumelle feels the talented 19-year-old needs to consider a move away from Old Trafford to show he deserves to feature in the next Africa Cup of Nations

One one hand it’s good that we are putting ourselves forward for the top loan targets that are out there, the down side is there is a much higher chance of being disappointed. I would like to think that we have back up plans, the problem being what quality of players will be left to chase in such a short time frame.
