He needs to stop doing that, very weird that it happened so many times. The ref didn't seem to like him, despite Matos ending up the most fouled player on the pitch.

To be fair to him, he got involved. Most touches per minute on the pitch. 93% pass completion. Won 7/8 duels. Couple of crosses. Tough to throw him on out of position against an opponent a foot taller.

But it's time to admit Seriki never was among our biggest issues and restore him to the starting eleven now.

That was really winding my Dad up, every time Matos looked like losing out in the air he was throwing an arm towards the ball.

Seriki simply has to come back despite his alleged 'issue'. He's not perfect but at least he's a right back. And he can change a game. Hell, I'd happily even play him right wing too if we don't trust him defensively - he's better than Ogbene.

One of my pet hates in modern football is players going to ground easily and grabbing the ball in their arms as they hit the deck. 99% of the time refs just go along with it and award a free kick even if it wasn’t one, presumably for an easy life.

So on the one hand I’m glad to see this being clamped down on. On the other, it’s a shame the clampdown started with one of our players, in his own penalty box!

It's also a shame that the ref let a derby player do the same thing about 1 min earlier and awarded him with a foul, make that make sense

Thanks for the clip. Watched it a couple of times. I don’t think the ball was ever going to roll out of play. It’s dire from Matos, he could have put it out for a corner quite easily before he fell over. Peck and Cooper could have got involved too, although I suppose it’s difficult to predict that level of brain fart

That would certainly explain some of the worthless scrubs down the years - Luke Freeman* and Florent Cuvelier spring instantly to mind.

Me & the mates have said that for a while Wards , Seriki is better & stronger physically going forward & can actually defend unlike Ogbene
