Luke Freeman has played just as many games out wide as he has as a number 10 so he definitely could, whether he’s still an effective player like he once was in this league who knows. Brewster is also a potential option, probably our only striker who could play wide.

If it was not agreed well in advance then we surely should have a back up. It looks amateurish having two players all agreed, according to a respected journalist,and then due to work permit issues we should know about and then an agent pulling the rug we get neither!

don’t think you can blame us for the agent. Known dickheads - give me £xxx or it’s not happening. We’ve seen that before

the issue is trying to do deals on deadline day
 
Could be worth converting Osborn and bogle to wingers? Maybe playing Osborn LW Mcburnie ST Brewster RW could work. Or Brewster LW Mcburnie ST Bogle RW? Suggesting this because it doesn’t seem these two will get game time but they are class IMO

Mid season? After the pre season we had? With the remedial work we need to put in already?

Should we need to be looking for creative solutions to disastrously poor execution in the transfer window as a newly relegated team from the Premier League?

Maybe, but we shouldn't have left recruitment so late on wingers which based on the current managers previous teams was essential to how he wants to play. No backup plans or other targets? If we'd done this weeks ago then we wouldn't be in this position.

Where's the info on the last minute fees added out of interest Yogi? Scrap this, just seen the comment from Giddings. Still not good enough.
 

I guess the agent thinks we have a ton of money after being in the prem and selling a goalie. Let me tell you el agentino, scumass, leach, toilet licker....we don't. Just sayin'

we cant control what a players agent does, or when the contract is signed, if its the last minute because the agent has been waiting for a call back after telling other clubs what we or anyone else have offered, whats the solution, a signing on bonus that decreases 10% every 24 hours? , no more than we could control Villa or Fulham offering deals to Watkins or Robinson, The work permit issue will need some explaining, as for back up, how do we know these two werent back up to Diallo and AN other?

Absolutely with SUFC.

They failed to deliver what they promised him. 5 players. And the players we desperately needed to play the way he wants to.

Who do you blame? The agents or the work permit rules?!

United have had since June to get the players in to improve the squad. We have replaced Ramsdale with Ollsen and Lundstram with Hourihane.

I like the Gibbs White signing and jury out on Davies but it was clear we needed creativity and goals ....we barely have created more than 1 chance per game for 12 months.

I just feel scrambling around for players minutes before a deadline and waiting on an agent or a player who can change their mind is bordering on amateurish from the club. Deals should gave been done days/weeks ago for players. If our number one targets were not done we move onto the next ones.

I cannot believe the club transfer policy is wait till the last hour in Auguat and sign 5-6 loan players to make up half the team? Obviously we only got half of them anyway if that was the plan!

I cannot agree with this post more. Absolutely unacceptable forward planning for a team with aspirations of promotion. We bring in a manager with a tried game plan, if fluid and we sign absolutely nothing for him to work with, wrt his wide players and stretching the play.

That's the point

Agents are annoying but every club has to deal with them.

We are always at the mercy of them.

We needed to be ahead of the game with our business. If this signing was not concluded by a certain time/day then you move on surely? So when it collapses at 11.30pm you are not then left with noone?
