It’ll be interesting to track these throughout the summer. Not to pick at the stories, as they’ll be loads of incorrect rumours, but more to highlight the hit rate accuracy given the negative stories always come with posters on here saying “well Nixon gets stick but he’s normally right”.

We sold Ramsdale and didn't buy anyone for context on what to expect. Granted we have more contracts up this year but I am still not expecting anything big

Maybe 8 million in total certainly not on one player
 
We will not be spending £8 million on anyone anytime soon. Premiership loans & free transfers & maybe a couple of £2million purchases.
 
8 million on a goalie when we need to rebuild the entire first 11 would certainly be a surprise. But as a relative optimist, maybe it might be the first of several flashier-than-expected signings for the summer

Anel Ahmedhodzic, Vini Souza, Anis Slimane and Benie Traore will be made available immediately as Chris Wilder gets to work.

Sweeper Ahmedhodzic has been looking to leave in past windows and will now be cleared to move on.

Midfielder Souza joined last summer and is another who will not be part of the Blades squad next season.

Slimane failed to live up to expectations while striker Traore was sent on loan to Nantes after one window.

The cash will be spent on new faces and others could leave although the club do not want to lose them.

With the exception of Hamer, pretty much unwinding the whole of the last window for money back would be an enormous result!

not really big news hes revealing there is there think most blades fans expect those 4 to leave one way or the other along with norwood and larrouci and can also see grbic trusty and lowe being shown the exit door

Basically….he’s not got anymore clue than most of us on here. Probably trawls this site & others for snippets…..a bit like the Sheffield Rag(Star). He then claims it’s!

I think he's got more clue than majority on here, although admittedly thats a very low bar.
 
Nixon gets some stuff right.

He gets some stuff wrong that probably came from decent sources and he thought might be right.

He’ll also post some stuff as favours to agents/players/managers that allows him to get the good info.

And he probably makes some stuff up to fill column inches.

I'd say that nails it. Also he's got to look like he's knows everything if he wants suckers to pay, hence the regular cryptic stuff.

I think that covers all bases, except maybe "Makes stuff up he knows to be wrong". Or possibly "Hallucinates stories then posts them in good faith".

Thing is, we can’t really say we should have kept other players instead as not a single player released has really proven to be a mistake.

Billy hasn’t made an impact at Hull. Enda has missed as many games as he’s played. Fleck was injured nearly all season for us and then Blackburn.

So other than sentiment we had to replace but as you say it was the worst window in living memory in recruitment for the level.

I can’t think of anything less Sheffield United as getting relegated but then buying a player for a fee eclipsed only by Hamer and possibly Souza and even that is doubtful. I’m excluding Archer as we know the fee isn’t getting beyond the first installment when we go down.
 
I don’t see how Sunderland won’t need to balance their books. The rumour is £8m but it could be up to £8m with bonuses / promotions etc

I highly doubt we would be interested at the £8m level.

At least we believe we have a shot at these players.
