Alan Nixon, yet again the first to break a story on us.
Would love to know who his source is as this is a regular thing now.

My main worry would be the managerial merry go round as many of these owners aren't known for their patience, especially if they back the manager with funds and they fail to get promoted. The problem then is they replace them with another manager who wants to play a different formation and tactics. When that doesn't work out after one season, because they don't have the right players yet, they get sacked and rinse and repeat. It's not all of them but there is a worrying trend.

Look at how many managers Forest have gone through. Santo is a dead man walking next season if they get off to a bad start.
Less of an issue if a strong DoF is in place.

Manchester based agents. It will have come from an agent whos client is probably in limbo or some shit. He’s very connected with Blackburn and Bolton.

I’ve actually seen him publicly messaging McBurnie before. I doubt a takeover rumour would come from him or his party, but the fact he knew he was going to be on the bench at the weekend is suspicious

Can't afford or are planning on using the wages freed up to bring in a reliable replacement?
Can't afford IMO
Time will tell with how fast we bring replacements in but I think it'll be a case of getting who is surpluses to requirements once everyone else have got their targets.

The injury might have changed things. If so, fair enough. He gets too many of them

I would like to see a fairly direct replacement though, with another versatile left sider coming in. It also opens up more space for good old Lewis OBrien

Would have wanted him to stay as he cover multiple positions.

However if we are able to purchase a new left wing back and a new left centre midfielder and have them as specialists then it’s much better.

Yeah but we'd need someone to cover him to cover multiple positions

3 possible explanations
Firstly his injury is serious
Secondly the budget has gone up so we r going for better players
Thirdly there is no budget and we don't want to pay him wages over the summer

I'm going for the first or third

I wish we could all "be freed" from Nixon and T*e S*n "newspaper".

We won’t sign anyone for a fee this window is my prediction
Not without selling someone first. Even then we ain't going to get much for Souza, Traore and Slimane. I'll be stunned if we got £10mil in total for all three. As unpopular as it may be, selling Hamer for a profit might be what we need this summer, so long as the funds are given to Wilder. My only concern is would Wilder sign 3 players for a total of £20mil, or 10 players for a total of £20mil?

I hope it’s 10 for £2million his track record with big signings isn’t pretty

Osborn is ok, nothing more in my view. I wasn't impressed v Palace when he didn't do enough to block the cross fr their winner in the first game of the season when he was playing LWB. Granted that's only one incident but he isn't good enough to be a starter in my view and has too many injurues also.

Decent lad and a decent pro saying all of that but think we could put his wages to better use. I hope this means that Wilder has been given more money to spend in recruitment and thus allowing Osborn to leave but I suspect it could be related to injury as others have said.

Every time I see Alan Nixons name now I think, is Pochettino coming, Phillips and Arblaster midfield, Harry Kanes not happy, or will it be Rooneys Sheffield United, Eric Dier and Trusty in defence, Bamford up front 😮‍💨

Maybe we looked at his availability and decided not to proceed.

I’d imagine he’s edged his way well into the 20k bracket, maybe he’ll drop down again but even so, if we see an up and coming League One player, they’re probably on about 2k per week with a lot of clubs.
