Details from OS..........

Christian Nade, Ian Ross and Ben Starosta are included in a United side that takes on Sheffield FC in Dronfield on Monday night.

Whilst the Blades' first-team contingent continues their pre-season preparations in Ireland, Academy Football Manager Ron Reid takes a squad to the Bright Finance Stadium at Dronfield.

The 17-man squad to face Unibond Northern Premier League Division 1 South side Sheffield FC - the World's oldest football club - also includes Senegalese defender Mamadou Seck.

Monday's match represents the first pre-season outing for young defender Starosta. The Sheffield-born full back featured prominently for Poland in the FIFA U20 World Cup in Canada this month.

Reid said: "The lads have worked hard in training and they're looking forward to getting some match practice under their belts."

Admission prices for Monday night's match are £6 adults and £3 concessions. Kick-off is 7.30pm.

The squad to meet Sheffield FC is...
Annerson, Starosta, Horwood, Kerry, Seck, Lowton, Tahar, Ross, Nade, Robertson, Donnelly, Wedgbury, Hernandez, Eagers, K. Quinn, Oliver, Abdi

23/07/07 - Sheffield FC

Won 1-0, Ian Ross penalty, about 37mins. Jamie Annerson had virtually nothing to do all game. Our forward/midfield need to sort out their crosses - everything went in from the left and went too far or too short or got intercepted - not one hit it's man. Every shot was at their goalkeeper - he hardly had to shift from his spot to save them. He was very good though!

That's it really.. I don't do reviews lol. Couldn't give you exact team as Dad taken team sheet... Annerson, Nade, Ross, Laughton... All I can think of I'm afraid!!

Sheff fc goalie has 3 fingers, true story!

Were you sat on the Bellend stand? :D

He he, that was an unintended pun!

I hope we keep him too, he seemed to be quite popular with the Blades (although maybe not so much with the FC fans ;)) and I thought he played well. You can see why sometimes he's not got the most stamina, though - he's built like a brick outhouse!

The Star on Nade..............

CHRISTIAN Nade did little to dispel speculation over his sharpness, last night.

Recently, the Costa Rica-born former French Under-21 international was seemingly on his way out of Bramall Lane in a £550,000 deal with Hull City. But manager Phil Brown withdrew, apparently citing long term' fitness reasons, although United deny any problem in his conditioning.

At the Bright Finance stadium in Dronfield, the 22-year- old central striker never really got going and endured wretched luck in front of goal against the hard-working non-leaguers.

Frustrated Nade was substituted with minutes remaining of a second half where he'd ended up wandering on the right wing looking for the ball.

The man Neil Warnock signed last year as "raw talent" had scored four goals in 27 league and cup appearances for the Blades last term (19 as sub.)

And in the first minute against Club, he nipped into a gap between defender Tom Jones and keeper Jamie Holmshaw to send the ball heading goalbound until a desperate defender hooked it off the line. In those early stages he certainly seemed to have a point to prove - almost running through advertising boards near the corner flag as he chased a pass.

And it looked a clear penalty when Andy Brownrigg felled him in the area - referee Dave Benton awarding a free kick outside the box.

Prompted by the industrious Ian Ross United enjoyed almost complete possession and went ahead with a penalty after 37 minutes.

Matthew Lowton was tripped and Ross fired low into the left hand corner.

Nade's second main chance arrived as he skipped past Jones in the penalty area, his shot, though, looping off Holmshaw's body and over the bar.

Sheffield club were fresh (or not so fresh) from a 7-0 hiding from a Blackburn Rovers XI on Saturday.

Well marshalled at the back, they stuck to their task of defending from deep.

United offered little width to break them down, which is probably why Nade, who had hit two tame shots at goal, drifted out on to the right flank looking for a break.

United's blushes were spared with 10 minutes left when Sheffield's Karl Colley rose unchallenged for a corner, but headed just wide of the angle.

i hope we keep nade i think he wood be good in the championship just shame about his fitness levels
