i really do fear an almighty ass kicking in our direction in this one.not the bestest of forms to go to deepdale.:(

Simonsen
Lowton Maquire Collins Williams
Mendez-L Quinn Monty Doyle
Evans Cresswell

I think most people will suddenly be expecting a pounding. For me, we could have won every game weve lost lately. Preston 2-2 Blades

Only if Preston gift us two own goals

Fear not. Preston lost to the bottom side in the Division yesterday.

Maybe they've peaked. :)

Good. The last thing we want before the derby is another beating.

We would have got one there as well, bang out of form at a place we seldom take something from.

The manager and players now have two weeks to take stock and try to get a striker in.

Don't see any cons to this postponment at all.

Con for me is that I'd arranged to go to the game and then on to stay with friends nearby for Sat night. Now have to make decision - do I mess them about by cancelling going when some other friends were also coming to meet up, or do I drive all the way up and spend a fortune on petrol without being able to combine the trip with a game? V annoyed they're able to call off at short notice having promised the game was on.

Why's it been called off? Can't get the OS to work for some reason!

international call ups

Clubs must have three players away on international duty to trigger a postponement and originally only Iain Hume and Keammar Daley had been called up by Canada and Jamaica respectively.

However, defender Conor McLaughlin received a late first call-up to the Northern Ireland squad and the game will now take place on Wednesday October 19.

To be fair I hadn't considered that in my earlier post.

Clearly I was referring more to the issues concerning the team.

I agree it must be very frustrating for supporters who have made arrangements.

Saying that, when was the last time governing bodies and clubs put the fans first?

I knew what you were getting at, but annoying personally having made arrangements for the weekend around the game. There will probably be other fans that had bought train tickets etc on the basis of the announcement last week that the game was going ahead. But as always, the fans come last when clubs make decisions - I think there should be a deadline for calling games off for internationals etc, and that having made what seemed a definite announcement last week Preston should have to stick with it. On our current form they should expect to beat us without an Irish U21 player anyway!

I suspect if they had won well on Saturday instead of losing they may have decided to keep the momentum going by playing without the three players but like us are happy to take stock

Well I was hoping for 3 ponts sat and 1 tonight. But seeing as the ref robbed us saturday ill take 3 points tonight please.

Wonder what odds would have been on a phillips hatrick? Clarke sounds like hes giving us something a little different.

Preston 2-4 Blades!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAAAHHHHH!!!!

Just on the way back.

Good game from both Blackpool men, they struggled to cope with Phillips and Clarke looks an intelligent player, good link up play, held the ball well and probably deserved a goal himself.

It's easy to point the finger at Simmo and he probably should have done better with their first, but Carlisle should have never have been left unmarked at the back post!

Similarly, Harry should never have let Hume turn on the ball.

Another good cameo from Willo as slan impact player.

We were never really comfortable though and need to work on keeping hold of possession/defending from the front at times.

Good result though and scoring 4 decent goals away from home is never to be sniffed at.

Great win and Matt Phillips and Lee Williamson were outstanding we played well and lets keep this up you blades.

Sensational result bearing in mind we all seemed to fear it. In fact we all seemed to fear getting nothing from the last two games. To come away with 4 points (should have been 6)...maybe it shows we really are just two or three players away from being the side we hoped for, and we need not settle for mid-table after all...
