Same here BB a toss up between them, but the defence looks so much better with Ugo. No bad performances today but Bristol were very poor. Having said that you can only keep beating what's put in front of yer, and today we did that easily.

Anyone else notice how much better Killa played with Ugo at his side yesterday? Naysmith aswell actually.

I'm stuck between Beattie and Ugo for MOTM.

Been saying all season that the defence looks so much better across the board with Ugo playing.

He never randomly hacks it "clear" when he has time to play it out either. Naysmith plays better as he isn't dragged in side constantly.

Ehoigu has so much more composure than Morgan...but with the midfield playing better today, there wasn't as much pressure on the defence.

Yeah i prefer Ehoigu as well to Morgan. He has a better temperament for a start. However, he did look a little uneasy for the first 15 minutes or so yesterday. But, after that he was solid.

Didn't know you could tell the future ;)

He cant apparantly! ;)

Good performance yesterday after a fairly slow start but the result tells the tale of what really is possible. Great to see Beattie get another couple because he worried me 1st half for some reason. Special mention to Naysmith, Sharp and obviously UGO after solid and possibly unoticed performances.

Speed continues to play well and when he does the team does. He was still winning tackles in the 90+ minute and as for Howard...
...calm, confident and extremely promising. I know it was only 15mins or so and its a wee bit too early to get carried away but he stood out and was confident enough to shoot from distance, try the more ambitious pass and 9 times out of 10 it came off.

Webbers doing a good job out left and Squinny was good in the middle so wouldnt like to say who to drop for the Pigday :( (can we play with 12?)

Back four looks a lot more solid without Morgan and Paddy collected a bit more in the air yesterday too. A well-earned and deserved win

I HATE INTERNATIONAL BREAKS!

First maxime, then naughton now ugo!

whats with you and your fancy to defenders :D

A very comfortable performance against a Brizzle Zity side who were deeply disappointing. Incredibly rarely, I was in the ground for kick off (but I turned away, and didn't see it .....!). The first half for me was more about frustration, as the visitors came to put ten men behind the ball, but United were dominant. United didn't seem to show any signs of panic however.

A very good sign.

No sooner had I turned round to one of my mates to say "We could do with one before half time, cos this lot (Brizzle) are gonna get a right bollocking as they've been so crap.", when we got the goal, and what a belter!

Maybe it was because of the viewpoint we have on the Kop, but a few of us in that half of a second as the ball was delivered thought it was crap and too low, but the fuse was lit on the Beat's boot, and the net nearly bust :)

If United were dominant in the first half, they were totally in charge in the second. A great delivery from Quinn to the far post to be nodded back had all the hallmarks of a training ground set piece, but whether they practice the own goal part of it, only they know .......

I couldn't really see the third, but it seemed inevitable as Zity slid inexorably toward defeat. With United utterly in the ascendancy, the midfield started to look to play even more, and Naughton looked to come forward even more. One particularly fine run I thought had 'goal' written all over it, and I thought the same from the resulting free kick too. Alas, it wasn't to be.

United threatened in every attack, and apart from header over the bar, and the Beat's last ditch clearance, Brizzle never looked like scoring. Howard I thought looked decent when he came on, and it's a shame when his perfectly weighted pass found Super Dan, but the shot went wide.

In all, it was exactly the sort of performance we want and demand at the Lane, especially against a poor/disappointing/just didn't perform on the day side.

Top notch to the Blades!

Oh, and I'd also like to add my extreme pleasure in finding that the clown who was sat behind me last week v Watford was nowhere to be seen.

I'm inclined to agree. It's weird though. When I look at the relative strengths of Killa and Morgs, on paper they should be like two interlocking jigsaw pieces, but they just ..... don't ..... seem ..... to .....

Beattie's first goal was absolutely sexual... the cameras on the Championship have only just managed to keep up with it.

I would also like to echo Bexley's sentiments... an international break is the last thing we need at the moment!

I sat in the bramall lane end for this game.

Think first half was boring but again like against Watford we picked it up 2nd half.

My highlight of the day was when Beattie did a goal line clearance and fell into the back of net The face he pulled at the Bristol fans was well funny. Wish someone had a photo. They gave him stick throughout the game and i think he enjoyed it.

Seemed very quiet up there no singing, only singing heard was from the kop and G and H block.

Got to say the view up there is better than on the back of the kop and if it wasnt for the quietness I'd happily move there. Maybe when they do the Kop i'll move up there.

My man of the match goes to Naughton although Speed is a close 2nd.

It wasn't a bad crowd to say they didn't bring many, but a team fourth in the table (woop woop) should be able to attract higher crowds without all these ticketing schemes they keep coming up with.

On the same note though, wouldn't it have been an opportune moment to give some freebie/cheap tickets away to the students? One of their first weekends in the city and while they still have some money!

how did howard get on when he was brought on?

Any feedback from you guys that were there?

He looked steady enough and ran about a bit. The game was already won though so he didn't have the time or the inclination to do anything too fancy.

A bigger test will be the pig match, but as it stands, I'd say we got a decent enough deal with change left over from Tonge's sale.

I personally think we looked a complete different team when howard came on

Actually got the ball on the deck, he looks like he knows how to use it

The missing piece i feel

I was away for this game and never got to see the goals. Anyone got a link for highlights please? Cheers in advance. :)
