Was totally shell-shocked after the game. I get that sometimes one gets things wrong and moving forward, can then look at rectifying the errors.
The above and listening to Selles's interview on Sky, it seems like he feels the team and the tactics were good enough to get a positive result and that they just fell short.
I find this concerning.

Any attacking positives are swamped by some really baffling defending.

If it’s clear to us laymen where the problems lie, it doesn’t seem clear to our manager and coaches, and for me starts to bring into question the strategy of the board. Not just yesterday but we’ve had a full pre season to sort this

Could be and we have had departures so happy to give the benefit of doubt but I do have a nagging doubt that our squad is still stronger than Hull had last year and I don't think they performed like that? The board are an easy target in this situation but should we not be stronger at the end of the window I will be less understanding

The most worrying thing about yesterday is how weak we looked both mentally and physically. Shrugged off the ball by their back line, outpaced by their midfield but even worse mentally weak when the third goal went in.

Up to half time we were in it, and looked the more likely to go and score a couple. As soon as the third goal went in the heads went. Same as last season.

100% I thought one improvement would be that we would go to then end unlike last season but we gave up after their 3rd

Early days, maybe some of our players will take some time to adapt to the mental and physical approach

Frustrating that yet again we have had opponents in pre season that haven’t been an adequate test and players that would have improved us have gone to other teams while we wait for better players to become available “at the end of the window” while we sell our better players before the season starts so aren’t prepared.

Those 2 statements don’t sit together, we still trying to get value while other teams are paying what it takes to get the players in they want.

Selles got tactics wrong against Bristol City; he could not have got info about how they play or anything.
Appalling defence player didn't know what they were doing, even Hamer, Cooper, Burrows, and Peck were way below what we expect them to play like.
Selles must communicate with the owners of the club to tell them which players he wants to sign.
Two centre-backs for a start. When asked by Any Giddens about incoming players, Selles answered I have not looked at the.
He was concentrating on the match tactics, who to play, etc. Well, he got it totally wrong dint he?

im afraid if we dont get 2 solid centre backs in we are going to have to go back to 2 defensive midfielders and actually will surely have to go that way at swansea until we get the defensive side of our game sorted this 2 wide men and 2 attacking midfielders wont work soumare has to come in and i would be tempted to go back in for choudray he knows us and can play dm and rb would be a smart move imo

We only had an xg of 1.35 against them when we beat them 3.0 at the Lane in the semi final.

Xg says Selles in.

Call me old fashioned but I preferred the 3.0 win to the 1.4 loss, but I'm prepared to give AI another chance.
