Why dont you give it a go yourself. Sounds like you have the answers
Thanks, I hope I can expect your support
In my view the sacking of Wilson was a travesty - we would imo be mid Championship now.For me the jury's still out on Adkins. We have been saying for a long time that we need to give a manager more than one season - ideally two at least - to build their own team. Obviously exceptions should be made if it looks like we might actually go down but otherwise, even if we finish mid table, Adkins probably deserves another year.
It's not necessarily the manager that's at fault. In addition to Adkins, two of the managers we've had in recent history had great records before coming to the Lane. Adams and Wilson both had numerous promotions behind them. They didn't just become crap managers after signing a contract with Sheffield United. They were hampered by the huge expectation at the Lane, probably combined with difficulties in bringing in the players they want - and in DW's case a big slice of bad fortune. To be fair Wilson's tenure wasn't crap but we still sacked him

We should never have appointed him.
You serious? I can't remember who else was in the running tbh but Piggy Danny did a decent job and was very unlucky
One chip or two?Piggy being the operative word. We should never have appointed a grunter, simple as that.
Agree. We put up with him whilst we were winning but as soon as it started to go wrong a lot of people quickly turned on him.Piggy being the operative word. We should never have appointed a grunter, simple as that.

Warnock. In the same division the day he finished as the day he started.
7 and a half years on the road to nowhere.
And we gave those pigs several damn good thrashings.A slightly simplistic view! Although the division was the same, there were a lot of other improvements:
(i) Average crowds up from about 15,000 to over 30,000
(ii) Turned us from a bottom-half team to a top-half team
(iii) The club's finances were vastly improved during that time
(iv) Although we 'ended' at the same point that we started, there were a lot of highs during that time - better than spending seven years in League One and then getting promoted
(v) We completely overtook the oinkers (though that wasn't hard to do, it was still very satisfying)

Warnock down to 1/3. Anyone else follow Blade58 's tip?

Happy with being the best loser?
I'm not.

Biggest steaming pile of shite ive read on this siteWhen he took over he had six months to "save" United. He followed Heath who had taken just four points from thirty, no win in ten. He was sacked. Our last nine matches that season, we drew four, lost five. Four points from twenty-seven. Spot the minor difference.
It took him six seasons to get United promoted or was it Blackwell who was "Holmes" and Warnock the "Watson" of the two?
Some of the hoofball that we played under him/them was atrocious at times.
Semi-final appearances and failings, so what?
Because he finally achieved something then failed again immediately, let's not make the man a Blades' legend.
It's a shame that the football forums hadn't really taken off during his tenure at BDTBL.

Unfortunately, if they have they could still do their money.
Still fav but there is a hitch which Dkc has alluded to already so I'm led to believe
I have a few bob on and a saver on Gray after I heard about the hitch and I believe he is/was second choice. Who knows tho, got it wrong before and I'll get it wrong again so we'll see
Blah blah blahI understand. Some folk can't deal with the truth.
Don't dwell on it though. Reality doesn't hurt that much.
Blah blah blah
