Shit. Never realised that until you mentioned it just this once.

What's it matter if it's a baseless rumour? He's as good as gone and we all know it. We'll get 400k and then makblade will be on to tell us it's an unbelievable deal whilst we finish 8th

CA will be sold that is guaranteed, we just don't know when and what fee we will receive (that will be undisclosed ). Personally I accept it will happen and will continue to happen, due to mistakes that were made in past years that's where we are and will be for the foreseeable future. The only thing that annoys me about selling our best/promising players is the money is rarely spent wisely on replacements the quality of our squad deteriorates with every passing sale whoever the manager is.

Four million quid? Not at this stage. That'll be the die cast though, anything less and, well, same owd same owd!

Knew you wouldnt admit that you have jinxed Hallam with your support (they lost yesterday) unless you went to the Lane yesterday
Silent. ..still do not get who, where and when I watch has to do with Che .

You said "Adams will go in the next transfer window for about £1.5 million as we can't keep a player who doesn't want to stay. The clappers will say it's good business for a 19 year old and convince themselves the money will be spent in building a promotion team for next season. We will invest in a couple of mediocre players and struggle to a mid-table finish. End of."

You keep saying negative things about our board but I thought you have started supporting Hallam FC since two weeks ago?

Oh I see you are now the moderator of the forum and are able to determine whether my comments regarding the board are valid as I occasionally choose to watch Hallam instead of United.
I have made negative comments about successive boards since we sold Mick Jones but I suppose in your view I'm not allowed to criticise unless I exclusively watch the Blades.
You only have to read the latest diatribe from our septic tank co-chairman to realise the board is a total shambles.

I get fed up of the tone from your posts and accusing of us as clappers.

I remember you were defending Bryan Robson when I told you that he should go when I met you in that train Journey back from Norwich in December 2007. My biggest criticism of the board was appointing Robson but you thought that he was a good manager!

Perhaps the Mancs x2 will compete for his services. I had the misfortune to watch the Machester bore fest. The true masters of pass it sideways and backwards. How much was paid for those superstars? and we grumble.

Put me on ignore or don't read my posts if they upset you.

We are a business, the sooner people realise this the better.Surprisingly, the club does not exist to please fans. It exists to make money, like any business. If the manager and the board decide that selling Che will ultimately help up achieve this goal, then so be it. 3m for a very raw player with very little game time or experience, regardless of his "potential" would represent good business from a buy low, sell high perspective. I like Che and think he could do well at united. You said it yourself, he hasnt performed that well this season, imagine if his form never "gets together" and he has 1 good game in 5 (purely playing devils advocate) - then 3m would represent a good deal.

For the record, I hope he improves and I hope we do keep him for many years if he continues to improve but the flouncing if he was sold for 3m would be amazing to watch.
Wrong, it's a sports club with supporters & exists to win things & entertain. A customer shops at a business & can decide to shop elsewhere. A supporter can't. If it's a business then it aught to be closed down for running up £5 million in debts every year

Hear, hear Malvern.

S5Blade has it that; "Surprisingly, the club does not exist to please fans. It exists to make money, like any business"

I disagree, I think the only reason SUFC exists IS to please fans.

- if it were 'any business' Kevin McCabe would not be near it, he can make plenty of money from property development.

So that's ghandi and Turry then. One more than I ever expected to hear about.

Hahaha, come on then where and when have I said that selling Adams would be good for business? Please oblige.
Selling Adams at any price would be a disaster but that doesn't mean he is untouchable because when the vultures swoop down to division 3 they usually catch what they want!
Surely you are not that niave?

Deane & agana. Adkins needs time to shift the dross but he hasn't helped himsen by adding Woolford to that list. He's tried & seems to have failed with Wallace. The supporters know something hasn't been right since the international break. It is feeling like last season again or is it me?

I would like to see DCL given a run from Jan to see how he performs and hopefully the loan spell will have given him the experience and confidence to succeed at this level. One thing is for sure, we need to keep him on the books as it will be all too easy to lose him while ever our squad is as bloated as it is. Get rid of the over paid deadwood and keep the young potentials. There must be at least 10 players that we could and should lose to free up the wage bill for either Jan or the summer.
We are currently know where near good enough for the autos and only further additions are going to resolve that.

UTMB!

IF we can keep hold of Adams & DCL we will have s strike force to rival De
... Girolamo?

Gonna be a star that boy...

Gonna be a star that lad...

Gonna be a star that man...

Just needs a chance.

He never got his chance...

Just seen a rumour on Blades Mad that we've turned down a £2.5 mil bid from an unnamed club for Adams and that Ilkeston have a 20% sell on clause.

Well you can be sure of one thing ...... IF there really is that sort of money on the table we won't be playing coy for long. Our Board (we don't need to sell our best players ) will have him sold before you can say " all the money will be reinvested in the first team " !! :tumbleweed:

And I predict ..... " when a big Club comes in for one of your players you cannot hold onto them " ...............

UTB & FTP

To be fair, if an offer of around £2.5m came in (not that we'll ever find out the actual money involved, football clubs play a different game with the tax man to the rest of us), it would be cruel not to let him go. Will a would-be throughbred like Adams ever realise his potential while surrounded by the Steptoe-esque 'Hercules' players we've got? Absolutely not.

He's 'there or thereabouts' for a £2.5 - £3m move to Bournemouth in January - apparently.
