The squad he has assembled, and taking into consideration the shit show around him in fairness, is bloated with has beens who offer next to nothing when compared to the vast majority of opponents in the league we are in . Most teams have athletic, attack minded players - who seem organised and can last the distance - we , on the whole , have nothing like this .
As I have said on other threads , CW has boxed us into a corner through his choices - we are turgid , slow , unorganised and largely incapable beyond a deep block .
As for the players giving their all ? Perhaps they are - but that then amplifies even more the damage done .
It’s a sorry state of self designed neglect from all parties .
CW is nothing like the future and his here and now is desperate and heading rapidly towards a sad and bitter ending

I’m not a big fan of continuous upheaval and I’m not confident at all the Board has the correct expertise to make the right appointment.
I would like to be able to see an uptick with the current set up.
It does sometimes feel that to Chris it’s more important for Chris to be vindicated and proven right rather than to actually do the thing that is right, if they are not always the same.
His defence of results of playing 4-4-2 is a good example, it simply doesn’t pass the eye test. Cardiff, Bolton, Blackburn in the league should all have ended in defeat. But the opposition were not clinical and we got away with it. It shouldn’t take bad results like losing to Fleetwood to solidify the understanding of these deficiencies.
Keep referring to last season as a benchmark is very defensive. Likewise referring to players lost.
He signed Doherty, Hamza, Brereton-Diaz, Donovan, Ayew, Phillips, Kitching players this summer. 7 new players.
I’d imagine not far off 150k per week.
That money could have been spent on other players too.
We’re not scoring goals yet only one of the 7 you’d really call creative.
He needs to start to give fans something to buy into. He has to find a way to make the signings he brought in contribute positively. He’s not done that yet. It isn’t somebody else’s squad. Of the 26, he hired 18/26 players and 5 came through the youth. So you’re only left with Davies, Chong and McGuinness who are not “his” players.
The argument he’s been given a bad hand doesn’t wash with me. Brooks went early and Donovan came in early. Gus was always going. He ‘replaced’ him on the left with BBD, but Gus was always a no 10 option too. So he should have had no 10 backed up too anyway and he would not have been left with losing his only one on TDD.
That was his call to not bring a no 10 in as well when Gus had gone. Has O’Hare remained but got injured he’d have been in the same position. He now has effectively 7 central midfield options and no 10. Whose fault is that?
I do hope he arrives at the correct tactics this break or it will be a slow painful few months in the lead up to Christmas.
