I agree 442 isn't working. He wants two strikers up top and that allows for that. Last season we mainly played 4231. We had O'Hare though then.
if we want to play 2 strikers it has to be a version of 352 booker 442 in the modern game is a very naive tactic were just outnumbered in midfield and we may have a chance when seriki and burrows are back ive read all your posts booker and do understand your opinion but as a former massive wilder fan im losing patience with him and his tactics which seems to be plan a pass it about forward sideways backwards to cooper then hoof to no target man i find it all a bit sad in his interview last night he looked a broken man i do think we need a change of direction its quite possible we could go down with wilder in charge personally i think hes got 2/3 games after the international break and if theres no improvement i think he will be sacked utb ftp ⚔️⚔️⚔️

So how close to the bottom 3 are we with those 3 games then? Because it needs to be done where we can salvage our season

The strength of the squad is relatively deep.

You can list out 26 players yet Oné and Donovan are the only remaining players 21 or under.

Come end of the season and I don’t see why we would need Ayew, Campbell, Chong, Rothwell, Riedewald, Choudhury, Shackleton, Doherty, Davies.

That’s more than a third of the squad you simply would not miss if they didn’t offer a body to the overall critical mass.

What wages is that little lot tying up?

Shackleton is a fine example of a player who should never have come in the door; small, injury prone, average when fit. I mean, what attracted us to him? He had a small spell under Bielsa once a few years back?
The number of players is relatively long. But how many players do we have who can guarantee a lower mid-table Championship level of performance as a base for 30+ minutes? Cooper, Seriki, Tanganga, Kitching, Burrows, McCallum, Peck, Phillips, Donovan, Bamford? BBD, McGuiness, Arblaster on the borderline. That's not many

probably in the bottom 3 if we lose all 3 games and think that will be it for wilder hes unrecognisable from the guy we had in 2016 its the sacking season hecky first to go and at least 3/4 more will have gone by mid october who knows who may be available

Last night was horrendous. i drove all the way to fleetwood, left work early, filled the car up with overpriced diesel, cold, late drive home and i was as p***ed of with the performance as everyone around me. Everyone has the right to be.

But i can't help but feel like that reaction from the fans at the end is extremely harsh on some of the individuals that do give a f**k.
Peck, Arblaster, Wilder, Donovan, Cooper etc don't deserve it.

Reidewald looked as if he wasn't bothered and that attitude doesn't get him back in over Phillips.
Rothwell should be named Robwell, he's robbing a wage and our position in the summer saved his squad place because we can't replace him.
RND is not an option unless were in a back five and there is a centre back dedicated to backing him up

Credit to Fleetwood, the effort was there and we didn't deserve anything even though we chucked everything at it from a changes perspective for the last 15 minutes.

No wonder the manager went straight down the tunnel. He put his neck on the line in the press conference, said we wanted to progress and warned they players that were going to be selected they needed purpose. they chucked it. left him looking foolish.

You can't blame the coaching staff every week. We know were under scrutiny with the EFL. The owners have put us in a shite situation and we've had to conform to SCR to make sure nothing from a football club perspective attracts a points deduction because off it and financially were a mess. The only hope we have is that on a footballing stage were legit and free from punishment.

Were far from perfect at the minute, the lack of fitness drives me mad every week. But there is no way i want this coaching team and manager out because they cant make a silk purse from a sows ear.

They didnt tell RND to score the own goal
They didnt tell the midfield to not bother closing down and marking opposition
They didnt tell us to regress on the ball

There is only so much they can do.

I have no doubt at half time that 11 was told if you dont make this game yours in the next 15 minutes your going to be in for a long night and they came out and did the opposite.

Stick with Cooper, McCallum, Burrows, Seriki, Choudhury, Tanganga, Kitching, Phillips, Arblaster, Peck, Bamford, Donovan, One regularly and we will get some results but if we continually rely on some of the players that repeatedly shaft us like tonight and like the others last year we will see a lot more of this.

Our best 11 goes well in the championship. Injuries will decide where we finish because 3 medium to long term injuries and we could be in relegation battle.

That squad isn't worth the paper its written on and the sooner thats accepted the better. We've got a championship 11-14 if your lucky - beyond that and the fringe of the squad were well off it.

But lets all blame Chris Wilder.

Wilder gives a fuck does he?
No wonder the manager went straight down the tunnel.
Oh yeah no this really shows that

Try and shift them on in the summer then? Free up some wages and get some fee's in for the shite we have on deck rather than our best players. It's not all on wilder don't get me wrong. But he has to try something new that suits this squad. Why revert from a back 5 last night? Every man and his dog can see 4-4-2 doesn't work. BBD isn't the winger we needed either, genuinely if we played him up top like we did in the disastrous premier league season, he'd probably contribute more.

Plenty of truth in that, but Wilder cannot possibly be excused for assembling the dross that surrounds the better players.

Explain to me how not going over and thanking/apologising to the fans and instead running away proves that

I didnt go yesterday so he can clap me. i went because its my club.

The manager is responsible for the performance of the team.

That's his fucking job.

it's not Fifa, they are not in control of them.

You can educate, you can help, you can form patterns of play and advise tactics. You can't stop errors.

Good finish for sunderlands winner and it was after a pathetic individual error in possesion. that's what cost us. How does a manager stop that?
By subbing Ahmedhodzic as soon as he goes off with concussion rather than letting us carry on with 10?

Been thinking back to the interview with Rosen from a couple of weeks ago and it's pretty apparent in that, if confirmation was needed, how much control of the club he has. We know he has a close relationship with Bettis, which can be both a positive, as well as a potential negative.

Would we entertain the idea of Wilder becoming a Director of Football and bringing in a new manager to coach the team better?

It removes some of the risk of Selles part 2. and the huge transformation following on from someone who has their fingers seemingly in every pie at the club. It also, may oddly fit his qualities better by getting out of the weeds of weeds of the day-to-day coaching and being able to set the tone and the culture he so often goes on about.

Of course, the big question is, would he go for it and could we afford to do that?
Wilder as Director of Football. You'd trust him with scouting, recruitment and spending money? That's a punchline to a bad joke. Every player he has signed for money, except Ramsdale, left for nothing or a loss. He is the last person I'd ever consider for DoF.

When Ahmedhodzic went off Souza dropped to centre back in his place to cover the hole and Kieffer moore dropped in to cover souza until a change was made. positioning wasn't the problem. The missing player at the time was the striker. we were in posession. your reduce the likelihood of scoring but defensively there was a man in every position.

The problem was an error and in the moment a manager cannot correct that.

A lot of people are enjoying this moment
Way way out of order saying that, ive been going home & away for 60 odd year's and its fucking hurting watching my club implode! At the top and right through the club including the manager and the recruitment team, its quite obvious to me we need a clear out right throughout the club, we're stuck in the 80s poor signings + poor tactics are making us a laughing stock! And now Wilder as a swipe at certain player's, which in the end could be his downfall! Sorry im fucking fuming at my club watching the desent.
