I see where you are coming from regarding the average ages (although they don't always tell the full picture and can be heavily skewed by 1 or 2 player inclusions). I'd be interested to see where this season's first XI lies in the table.

Ultimately, the issue is we don't have enough players that can get around the pitch and it's to our detriment. Signing players like Ayew and Jairo won't see any change in that regard.

He's always been more of a RW than a striker for most of his career, it's only the last year or 2 that he's been used as a ST.

At Palace he often played RW, with Zaha at LW and Ousmane Edouard as the ST.
