I have to confess I was concerned when I saw the lineup but I thought he played well tonight. What little pace he once had is long gone but he held the ball up well and made decent decisions.
Likewise but Ayew was really good tonight until unsurprisingly, his legs went
He earned his wages tonight and his contribution meant we didn't miss Bamford

Solid championship performance. Much like how commentary slagged off their keeper for the goal I think both instances were a little harsh... although in the Ayew case it absolutely wasn't a corner!

I would have been disappointed if cooper hadn’t parried that shot away from danger. It wasn’t that close to the bottom corner. But cooper isn’t an average championship goalkeeper. It was a decent save initially and luckily for us BBD remembered striker school 101 and followed it in.

Ayew has to get a shot away. Hes in absolutely acres when the ball comes over to him and he wasted the opportunity. Any decent championship striker either gets a shot off across the goalkeeper or chops back and the defender goes sliding past hopelessly. He had a decent game and like I said he held the ball and linked play better than both cannon and Bamford have been doing recently. It’s moments like that chance though where he has to do better.

I thought Ayew was excellent tonight, just what we’ve been missing. Showed his quality and why he’s played at the top level for so long.

Doing the basics well linking, passing, holding the ball at the right times. Big miss when he went off.

He was blowing badly after 45 minutes, so I can't remotely agree ge was a 'big miss'. The fact he couldn't even get a shot off, showed how slow he's become, but I agree that he had a decent first half, linking play.

6.5/10, but he needed to go off earlier

I thought it was a pretty tame shot and the keeper shouldn’t be parrying that into a dangerous area.

But if you get the shot off, it can lead to a goal so fair play to Ayew.

I thought he played surprisingly well tonight, a shame he has lost his pace though. That was a great ball from Cooper to try and catch Wrexham out on the counter attack.

If we get more performances like that from him then I will eat humble pie.

Im trying really hard not to be defensive of Wilder tonight but I do think its worth pointing out that Ayew is a Wilder signing and low and behold he's doing ok isn't he.

I also appreciate I've just failed on my first point! 😂

I think we’ve all got extremely low expectations for him given his age and recent performances at Leicester.

So I think whilst he played well, it wasn’t anything to get too excited about. For me it’s more case of being pleasantly surprised he wasn’t utter shite tonight 😂

His best game for us. Surprised he lasted as long as he did. Disappointed he fluffed his lines for the 2nd half chance, that's his weakness. Lack of peace means when a chance opens up, he rushes or the chance quickly dissolves as the oppo recover.

Be amazed if he's got 60 mins in the legs for Tuesday.

A style not dissimilar to Didzy on last night's performance. Up there for mom in my opinion.

I thought he showed fleeting glimpses of Didz, but he's nowhere near as sharp, or quick footed as Didz was. He could make a yard in a million ways, Ayew seems to lose a yard in a million ways. Still enjoyed his game last night though, thought he did well until he gassed out.

The Sky camera was on him when the board went up and it looked like he was disappointed when he was hooked. It was the right call, but good to see he wanted to stay on. In earlier games he was blowing after 10 minutes, as others have said, he did well to last as long as he did.

Early days as to whether he has the same influence as Didzy had on our game.
I recall him being a slow burner to begin with but soon imposed his superb ability on our performances. He was my favourite player in his time with us.
I'm hopeful Ayew can have similar effect on our play, last night showed his undoubted abilities on the ball and his reading of situations.
You have to accept his legs aren't what they were, neither were Didzy's, but players like those know how to adapt their game accordingly.
Plus the fact as Trigger says, he was less than pleased to be hooked, always a good sign imo, he's whetted my appetite to see how he is used in the coming weeks.
