I guess they think they think the board are listening to the fans booing and it will encourage them to act. The board are well aware of it’s not good enough and I’d imagine they’d already discussed it and what they could do, I think the signings are a response to current results and so he’s going to get a good few games yet. I would have thought that the board believes with the players he now has at his disposal it should be a steady rise towards the playoffs as the players knit together. The current squad should be capable of a strong play off team and by 10 games I expect us to have climbed to mid table but if we haven’t managed that then I’d imagine he will be sacked and he wouldn’t feel he’d not been given a fair crack of the whip.1
100% agree about not booing the team or manager, pathetic behaviour, but analysing their ability and performance is a completely different thing.
The problem is if we wait 10 games, just to be fair to him, and things haven’t improved enough to take us say out of the bottom 6, our season in terms of promotion is virtually over.I guess they think they think the board are listening to the fans booing and it will encourage them to act. We'll be down by Christmas thenQuite happy to persist with Selles for a bit, see if he can work it out. If not someone else can come in at Christmas. If we appoint dyche that will genuinely be enough for me to give up my season ticket and spend more time with my family. Last season was bad enough but I just can’t be arsed to sit through that sort of ‘football’ any more.
Hull survived from rock bottom. We'll be down by Christmas then
I’ve been thinking along these lines at times. That I’d rather go down than go back for Wilder again.Even if we do get relegated, does it matter? Hasn’t held Birmingham back.
Well that depends on what the ownership do I suppose. It probably does matter though. We'll be £40m down next season even if we don't go down. £50m if we do.Hull survived from rock bottom.

We’ve been there before and we’ll be there again.
From the board’s perspective they have said these players are good enough now let’s see how good you are. Ten games is a good barometer of how good or bad the coaching staff are. If we are no more than mid table then sacking him is probably the best option, 10 games in and being touching distance of playoffs is not a season wasted. The problem is if we wait 10 games, just to be fair to him, and things haven’t improved enough to take us say out of the bottom 6, our season in terms of promotion is virtually over.
I’m afraid there’s nothing in his previous managerial record or time at the Lane to suggest he can get us close to going up.I’m afraid he’s just not been the right appointment, and that’s pretty obvious, even if we win a couple of games in the next 5.
Prolonging the misery will serves no one, even the man himself.Keeping someone in a job, because you feel sorry for him, or can’t bring yourself to accept that it was your own fault for appointing him in the first place,or simply hoping for the best, never ends well for the business or the person himself, who has to endure the extra pressure of being out of his depth
Time to bite the bullet.
Wow. The Wider obsession is going to split us for a long time, clearly, if this sentiment exists.I’ve been thinking along these lines at times. That I’d rather go down than go back for Wilder again.
I doubt the owner see it like that after spending over £100m on buying the club and already investing a lot of moneyHull survived from rock bottom.

Absolutely no manager worth appointing will join a club that sacks a coach after 5 games, especially when they didn’t have a squad for the first 4. It’s complete idiocy. Can't see point in giving him more time the chances of turning it around are good as far as staying up.
Is he capable of putting in a challenge for play offs? Possible but more likely it will be a dough season,it would be a gamble we don't need to take as some experienced coaches and managers available could in my opinion have a better chance of pulling it off.
He has no track record of success can we risk as I said a dead season .
The owners have gambled once on this guy will they continue the experiment with failure the more likely end game.
In my opinion he has to go!!
I would agree if he had the resources/squad throughout pre-season and got to put that squad out through the matches so far. Losing the spine of the team hasn't helped but now we have got the replacements in, there isn't any excuses. Can't see point in giving him more time the chances of turning it around are good as far as staying up.

Given the pace at which our owners seem to operate I think they’ll start the process then if results haven’t improved with a view to having someone in post by the November break, gives them time to work with the team and suggest any changes prior to the Jan transfer window. Also from memory this is about the time they dropped Hecky, hopefully this time they make a more considered selection for the replacement. We have 5 fixtures (Ipswich, Charlton, Oxford, Southampton and Hull) before the next international break, realistically if things haven't improved or we are struggling, there should be 3 wins out of 5 at least if we are looking to climb the table. Then that would be the time to change, it would give the new manager an international break to work with the squad. If we look like we have turned a corner and start picking up results then Christmas would be the next review point just before the transfer window.
i believe these rumours about carrick but i do believe if we lose at ipswich selles will be sacked lots on here not too impressed with the carrick rumours but i think he would suit us he would get us organised and playing good football again plus play a system that suits the players we have selles certainly hasnt done that
I really hopei believe these rumours about carrick but i do believe if we lose at ipswich selles will be sacked lots on here not too impressed with the carrick rumours but i think he would suit us he would get us organised and playing good football again plus play a system that suits the players we have selles certainly hasnt done that
I really hope it works out fori believe these rumours about carrick but i do believe if we lose at ipswich selles will be sacked lots on here not too impressed with the carrick rumours but i think he would suit us he would get us organised and playing good football again plus play a system that suits the players we have selles certainly hasnt done that
I would really love Selles to turn this around, if nothing else but because he is an open, honest likeable person, but if he doesn't, I fully agree Carrick is a good fit, far more suitable than the other names mentioned apart from possibly Cooper.i believe these rumours about carrick but i do believe if we lose at ipswich selles will be sacked lots on here not too impressed with the carrick rumours but i think he would suit us he would get us organised and playing good football again plus play a system that suits the players we have selles certainly hasnt done that
Depending on how Selles gets on over the next few games will ultimately dictate how things go. We have options mentioned above, with our limited spend in terms of budget and I am going to through some names out there that haven't been mentioned (at least not too much)
1) Sir Gareth Southgate Pluses bringing in a name that has worked with England U21s and 1st teamers, could easily work with the an English team, would also bring some profile to the club and knows how to work under pressure in arguably the most pressurised job in the game. Downsides doesn't throw instant wow factor also has not had a lot of league opportunities.
2) Chris Hughton - Pluses has a promotion from the Championship on his CV with Brighton as well as keeping them up, has also overseen several other large clubs such as Newcastle, Forest, Birmingham and Norwich. Downside career has taken a different guise taking over as technical manager/manager of Ghana
3) Ralph Hasenhüttl - Pluses has experience of the English game with Southampton and the Premier League, he has also managed to keep sides out of relegation scraps in both England and Germany. Also isn't afraid of tinkering different formations and does like high pressing. Downsides has had some battering's as a coach (Southampton vs Leicester) and no experience in the Championship
2 massive wildcards
1) Jürgen Klinsmann - Could be a shout for a DoF as has done that before, would bring huge profile to the club. salary to get him to Toronto was £1million a year so not as bad as some might think. Downside not sure what he could do managerial wise
2) Rui Jorge - Former Portugal U21/ U23 coach- Pluses, brings profile being a recent Portugal international and high profile player, Portugal U21 coach he had a points per game ratio of 2.27 out of 127 matches. Downsides Not done a right lot yet and is fairly fresh we could end up with Selles Mk2
Absolutely no chance he'd come here!Good shout but if it was a choice I'd give Southgate a go at DOF now and let him run the football side including setting up the dore/academy project.
Coach I'd go for hasenhuttl as I think he's got a closer football style to Southgate.
As you say it'd definitely raise the profile of the club.
But it's all down to COH and their long term ambition![]()
Have you gone mental? Going back to playing in the pub league? That's another dead season and it's not an easy league to get out of, as our recent history would suggest.Hull survived from rock bottom.
Even if we do get relegated, does it matter? Hasn’t held Birmingham back.
We’ve been there before and we’ll be there again.
Yes we both know that but we need a DOF asapAbsolutely no chance he'd come here!
Yes. I can't fucking wait for that to happen. Again...Hull survived from rock bottom.
Even if we do get relegated, does it matter? Hasn’t held Birmingham back.

Birmingham have a lot more money than usYes. I can't fucking wait for that to happen. Again...
I had already given him until approximately 2.30pm on Saturday 30th August.Birmingham have a lot more money than us
How long do you give him thought? 10 defeats?
I really really hope selles works
As unlikely as it may seem now if we can just get a few results and be in the mix in January and bring in whatever we need then
I've never seen us as more than a play off contender for this season and I still think we are if he can start to get things right now he has a decent squad
Other wise it's another decade of muck and nettles and people who 'get the club ' and just falling short and losing at wembley
It always has beforeSacking Selles doesn’t mean we resort to “muck and nettles”, we’d probably just need to be more careful about appointing a manager.
