A disaster of a manager

When he came he said he was going to play fast attacking football, blah, blah, blah.
He does not have a clue, a disaster of a manager who isn’t able to get a tune out of one of the best squads in the division. The players look confused, unsettled and disorientated.
We have lost 5 on the bounce with no glimmer of it getting better tactically.
Go now!
We don't have one of the best squads in the division. Not even close. Barry, Peck, Brooks, Seriki, Bindon, One, Ukaki and Cannon don't appear to be good enough for this division. Given some of them start most matches, how in any way, shape or form does that make us one of the best squads? We have a young squad with potential who lack experience at this level.

Quite amusing those wanting Cooper and other comments regarding managers never playing professional football -

Cooper's playing record -

Wrexham - 0 apps
TNS (Welsh league) - 4 apps
Rhyl (Welsh league) - 4 apps
Bangor City (Welsh league)
- 57 apps
Porthmadog (Welsh league) - 0 apps

Oh and wooppee played a UEFA Cup game for Bangor City in 2002

Some PROFESSIONAL playing record that.

The players we have at our disposal we should be at the other end of the table, I know Wilder is not coming back but he would have us fighting for promotion with this side, anyone denying that are having themselves on, but he’s not coming back so who do we have, Cooper, Dyche? both would also have us fighting for promotion I don’t even think there is any doubt to that. Any good manager would turn it around with these players.

Time for the young trendy laptop analyst type manager to depart and get someone in before the gap from bottom to the top is too great.

Cooper in for me
For me too and most others. He's the obvious choice, and would surely have been appointed in the summer if he was willing to come and manage us. The fact that there were zero reports of any contact implies that he wasn't interested in the job.

We did.

Or do we keep wilder forever and ever?
Just because our current manager isn't much cop doesn't mean we shouldn't have moved on from him.

I agree. But it wasn't broke, so why try and fix it? With Wilder and this squad, we would be top 6 now. Sacking Wilder was controversial at best, appointing Selles was bemusing

Think he's genuinely stupid. Doesn't understand players strengths/weaknesses. Doesn't learn.

This is the problem in a nutshell.

If you have a decent left back whose weakness is positioning defensively don't put a lazy non-tracking left winger in front of him.
If you have a young inexperienced defensive midfielder, don't surround him with luxury attack-minded partners.
If you have Danny Ings on the bench don't put 2 other forwards on ahead of him especially your right-footed big powerful lad on the left wing

The players we have at our disposal we should be at the other end of the table, I know Wilder is not coming back but...
If Selles is sacked, you'd presume that asking Wilder back would be one of a few options our owners will consider.

get that Scottish journo in to ask him what he has improved from last season?

it’s not just square peg round holes on the pitch

The players are a ‘group of lads’ whilst the managers a continental tactician😂😂

Dyche would have us top 6 by March

COH - you said fail fast, think Selles took that literally

No shots on target again,5 games 5 losses, 5 hours without scoring in the league. 12 points back already that is pretty tough to make up even over a whole season.
Get a new manager in to give him 2 weeks to get settled in. This guy has to go !

I expect Selles won't go before the transfer window is finished but they need to act now. How often does a team which finished 3rd then the next season start with four league defeats and play as bad as they are? It's just baffling.

At least it's one more defeat closer to him going you'd have thought.

If Selles is sacked, you'd presume that asking Wilder back would be one of a few options our owners will consider.
Surely the owners can now see they've made a HUGE mistake.
Now is the time for them to show humility. Come out and admit it. Eat humble pie and ask Wilder to return.
I know there's more than a few on here who were happy to see him go, but do any of them think we'd be in the position we are now in if he was still here?

I’m not a massive Wilder fan but the fact is, we finished third with 92 points.
Wouldn’t have been the same outcome for certain, but Leeds kept Farke.

And whatever, surely Selles isn’t the answer because he is terrible

get Dyche in. or Cooper. would prefer Dyche though
I agree with everything that as been said,
He's got no idea, I dread to think what would have happened if we hadn't have bought taranga, apologies for spelling if wrong I've had a drink
I think he's got to go before Ipswich,,
No organisation,
Dyche or Cooper for me
These owners have got no idea

I can’t see where we are going to get a win,we don’t produce anything no shots on target again. The players look as confused as the fans😠

He might be a smart guy generally

But honestly, football wise he seems absolutely retarded. I can't quite believe it. He doesn't seem to grasp the most basic of things, like who can play where and what combinations of players are viable

He has no football vision at all. Honestly, less than most of us. Zero excuse for it. I can't believe he's blagged his way to this level in management

He'd be best suited to being an analyst at one of the bigger clubs, and invisible
