With the start of a new era under a new manager thought I'd post this article that Reading fans did before he took over. It makes interesting reading particularly about his football philosophy and experience to date. Also fluent in 4 languages.

Fake news!

The article isn't 100% entirely positive, so it won't go down well with those on here, trying to persuade us that his shit smells of perfume.

He's not the Messiah, he's just (another) naughty boy.

Interesting that he is an analyst which shows in his comments about Bristol City and what their new manager has done in the past.
Great that he wants to bring on young talent.
I can see how he fits with the new owners, so let’s see where we are at the end of October.

You're getting incredibly tedious now.

Take off your Chris Wilder pajamas and maybe, just maybe, give the new setup a chance 🤔 .

Apologies, I'd forgotten that the new RS cult doesn't allow any dissent.

I think it's a poor appointment and we will waste our last season of parachute payments, but that is just my personal opinion, Please point out where I have remotely suggested anything like wanting us to lose,

I'll be there cheering the lads on, as I've done for fifty odd years, but please don't tell me what to think.

Like you, I am heartily sick and tired of the childish and divisive commentary we’ve been seeing on this forum in recent weeks. If anybody makes any positive reference to Wilder, a readily identifiable group of posters quickly jump in with both feet to make stupid insults. Similar comments apply to the tiresome arguments around style vs points accumulation. It’s been a long summer…..thank God we can get back to the Lane today.

I don’t share your view on Selles. After a period of initial shock, I am now excited by his appointment, even though I am yet to see a ball kicked in anger by the Blades under his management. I do, however, recognise your view to be just as valid as mine, and just as likely to be right or wrong.

Enjoy the game, and hopefully the three points that get us off to a good start.

To be honest I don’t really mind the negative bollocks on here, as we all look at things in different ways. But I’d like to think we’ll all be on the same page when we eventually get back to BDTBL.

Disappointed nobody asked him to sing GCB yet. Poor social media and journalism standards. If he says "maggots" he'll be gone by November, even if we're top of the league.

Looking forward to the change.
We were very much becoming groundhog day like.
The way we've gone about business has impressed me so far.
Brought in new blood from the continent, sold players for profit and by doing so stabilised the wage bill.
I'm sure we haven't finished in the transfer market and I'm really looking forward to the new season.
Top 8 finish will be more than realistic in what I expect to be a very tight championship.
Utb.

He's shut down the leaks coming from inside the club
No need to bang on about where he's from to strengthen his position
Excellent in pressers so far
And, it turns out that we can look across the world for players
Who'd have thought it?

I'm here for the new era, new ideas and intrigued as to how it will pan out.

I feel very much the same as you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and it is understandable that many feel Wilder should have been given more time.
Although Selles has been in football a long time he has moved around a lot and only managed for a few months at this level so it is difficult to assess him but of course even the very best managers start somewhere often when they have had unremarkable playing careers.
I have been impressed so far with his interviews but talking the talk doesn't guarantee success.
I never expected Slav to do well as he didn't have a squad capable of adapting to his style of play and wasn't backed by the owner.
Of course we don't yet know how much backing Selles will get but he is inheriting a talented group of players, several brought in by Wilder, who I think will be able to successfully change how they play. We did see some periods of really good football last season so the ability is there, but CW didn't seem to have the confidence in them to let them use their talents to the full, preferring to shut up shop and settle for a narrow win.
So I am looking forward to seeing how we perform under Selles and hope he is allowed to make the necessary additions to the squad to enable us to have an exciting successful season.

I can not believe nobody has picked this beauty up "He had a solitary match in charge as an interim boss in November 2022 after Hasenhuttl’s exit, overseeing a penalty shoot-out win over Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup" Already a positive for me.

That’s one big main point. Even if it didn’t work out for Selles at least Utd are getting with the times.

Been a Blade like you for a long time, 63 years. In my opinion no manager present or past is a messiah. Managers come managers go, owners come owners go, players come players go the one constant is US. My opinion all along has been Chris Wilder has overall been a good manager throughout his "whole" carreer, the facts are there to prove it. In his second spell with us last season he did very well to put a team out on the pitch to enable us to compete up until the latter part of the season. Then for reasons only known to him he, and lets not forget the PLAYERS, lost the plot, I feel both on and off the pitch.

This constant shit throwing at times I find to be childish and gains nothing. But if people are sad enough to find entertainment in it then so be it it's their choice.

Two words come to mind "hypocrisy" and "stereotyping". You are saying that "those on the here are trying to persuade others that Selles's shit smells like perfume". But then later you tell people not to "tell you what to think."

I have no doubt that most people on here, including myself, have no idea what flavour Selles's shit is. I can only comment on my own shit and my 7 stone mountain dog who's shit at times smells like a day out at Hillsborough. Plus I do not have a "scat fetish" either!!! Although I have no doubt some people may think I talk shit, just thought I would get that in first!!!

Yes, I am fully behind Ruben Selles because he is OUR coach/manager and I will stay like that until he proves any different. From today onwards he and the players need OUR support.
