I think it's a poor appointment and we will waste our last season of parachute payments

The purpose of parachute payments is to allow clubs to make signings upon promotion so that they can at least pretend to be competitive at the Premier League level, knowing they have additional income to cover wages for a two year window while they revert their setup to something sustainable outside of the PL. It is not for "we loved you so much last time, please spunk this money on transfers so you can come back"

Parachute payments effectively 'subsidise' wages for reklegated clubs, giving them time to either come back up, or prune their suads of the higher earners.

This is therefore our last chance to make use of our more expensive players, before simple economics dictate they have to go. So, maybe it's our last chane to see Hamer. My point was that I don't think RS is necessarily the best man to make use of these payments. I have absolutely no idea what your point might be.

Maybe I have misread what you were intending when you said "waste last season of parachute payments". I think from what you say here we're talking about the same thing, rather than some sort of "we just spent 10 million on Cannon. Let's do it again!" spunkage. My bad.
