...Game on!

I still think it's unlikely that we can get 6th but this is the most remarkable turn around to a season I have ever known.

I Don't know if I want us to rest players for the semi or not now, but it's a much better dilemma to be in than the one we were in at the end of January.

Changed team and formation tonight, big 3 points against a team who must have thought play offs are possible.

It's a dream but it's still on!

He his rotating now Davies can fill most positions in the midfield and it has started tonight with Flynn and McGinn has come back in to give Scoogs a rest, Porter has given Baxter a break. Harry has finally got his yellow so he will rest for a couple of matches (1 week).

Its going okay but 6th is probably too much to ask when you see Peterbrough's run-in.

we win our game in hand over posh, leaves us 4 points behind them, the next 7 days could leave us within striking distance of 6th place, people still think it cant be done?

#daretobelieve

Ofcourse it's unlikely, highly unlikely.

It's just nice that the season isn't dead and over, and there is something to cling onto until May (in the league).

Also, We've passed 50 points! We are now safe, who would have thought we'd be celebrating safety in March after Crewe!

calm down everyone - the Clough way is one game at a time.

We are now back on with another 10 game unbeaten run.............

UTB

24 from a possible 27 I reckon.

Peterborough have a pretty easy run in, so if we give them results of P8 W5 D1 L2, we would have to get 24 points to get into the playoffs. As I said, highly unlikely, but who knows.

Peterborough don't play again until April 2nd - we have two games before they next play. If we win both, we'll be 1 point behind as they go into their next game!

What if we make play-offs and get to Play-off final at Wembley, go to Wembley and beat Hull and have to to go back to Wembley to play Arsenal/Wigan in the final? Sorry to mention Wembley so many times but I think Quid Quid had better set up stall in the Ticket Office.

Cracking win...NC makes changes and rests 3 key players, gets a win and a clean sheet..Posh lose, and the more pressure we can put on them the better.Good to see Coady bag a couple..sounded like Murphy played well, and the 2 young lads get on at the end...UTB!

Theres a possibilty if we put pressure on Peterborough they may well crack its happened before especially if we win the next 2 games when they dont play. Unlikely but it has happened

And the charity shield of course at wembley

.........even if everything goes our way we still end up going into the playoffs with no recognised forward. Not sure I could do that again.

they already sponsor the 'family' stand, i'm sure there will be leaflets in the post as to how to finance so many trips to wembley if we do...

I fear Peterborough will start to pick up form after Sundays JPT final. They may have had eyes on that the last few weeks and have stuttered as a result.

We win our games then we have a chance. No more no less. I am sure that's what clough has them concentrating on.

i think they will crack personally but we'll see. i think we can get into 6th but can we stay there? the pressure is always on the team higher up and not the chasing team. ideally you want to land in the higher position on the last day
peterborough have to play wolves away i can't see them winning that and carlisle and shrewsbury at home who are battling for their lives..not such an easy run in

Bugger me (metaphorically speaking, that's not an invite!) forgot about that. That's a possible 4 trips to Wembley or to put it another way Wembleeeeeeee Wembleeeeeeee Wembleeeeeeee Wembleeeeeeee we're the famous Sheffield United and we're going to Wembleeeeeeee Doh! I mentioned it again

It seems to be the 'Clough Way'. We don't play like most other teams - get it to the byline, cross and hope the big forward gets on the end of it. Perhaps it's because we don't have such a 'big lad' to aim for. Or maybe that's why NC doesn't see the need for such a method. We attack from every area now, with Murphy, Baxter, Scougs, Flynn etc. all able to switch and change the point of attack (almost worked in the second minute v. Wolves).

That's the way Chelsea play. With all their dosh, they see fit to see stiffs like Torres and Ba as their recognised strikers. They know Hazard, Mikel etc. can come in from almost any angle.

Clough amazes me with every passing game. Last night - as with Peterborough a couple of weeks ago - I heard the line-up and thought he'd given up on the play offs and rested players. How wrong I was.

Hi grafikhaus, think it's the absence of a decent forward (and I mean genuine quality) that has persuaded Clough to play the way we do. What he's grasped is that as long as certain basics disciplines are taken care of, that there's a fluidity amongst the team that enables anyone to pop up from nowhere and have a pop. Good analogy with Chelsea, but with someone of the class of Hazard you just have to give him the freedom to do what he does best.

If changes are to happen I hope it's the signing of a forward or two who have that killer instinct, it's what we're missing so can't wait to see what Clough has in mind during the summer.

Like the post but not sure where mikel comes into it,he doesnt shift from a 10 yard space:p

How exactly did we line up?

4-5-1. Doyle sitting in front of the back four with Coady probably the most advanced of the midfield three but not in a Scougall/Baxter way. Murphy and Freeman attacked well down the left but the threat from the right was limited by Davies' lack of pace. Porter did a decent job of holding the ball up but didn't do much facing the Crawley goal.

Howard
Brayford Maguire Collins Freeman
Davies McGinn Doyle Coady Murphy
Porter
