White became our scout in the 1970sHis understudy was Fred White who I Iater got to know through business . He was a staunch Blades supporter who lived to the ripe old age of 90 and still had a season ticket in the South Stand well into his 80’s .
Did he come round for teaWhite became our scout in the 1970s
Not a photo, but we were featured on "On the Ball" in 1982 (play from 50 sec onwards to avoid flashback image of Don Givens)

It tells you in the link in the previous postBradford 24.5k: We drew 1-1 at Bramall Lane in the 4th Division. Liverpool had a couple of hundred fewer; at Anfield, I forgot who they were playing.
Was Fred White our reserve team trainer at some stage?White became our scout in the 1970s
Yes it would've been greatThe pavilion should never have come down, would have made a real landmark, bit like Craven Cottage.
Imagine that today as the club shop, café / bar or even an exclusive hotel.
I’m sure only the SS car park is there now.

Looks like Roger Taylor, with a proper tennis racket. No idea why he’s at The Lane
It was an exhibition match in the early 1960s. Roger was born in Sheffield and his dad used to take him to matches at the Lane when he was a lad.Looks like Roger Taylor, with a proper tennis racket. No idea why he’s at The Lane
I'm sure I remember him handing out the end of season awards for Sheffield Collegiate junior teams in early 90s. I just remember sitting there thinking "this is a bit weird, he's a tennis player and this is cricket". I was about 13 though, so not much made sense anyway. It was an exhibition match in the early 1960s. Roger was born in Sheffield and his dad used to take him to matches at the Lane when he was a lad.
