No booking for us, so it's as you were.

  • Up to and including 46 games played by SUFC
    • Players who have received 15 yellow cards will be suspended for 3 games
    • Players who have received 20 yellow cards will have a regulatory commission determine their punishment
  • In the EFL Championship Playoffs
    • Any suspensions received in the 46-game regular season will carry over into the playoffs, including the final. So if a player receives their 15th yellow in game 45, they would miss game 46 and both playoff semis
    • No yellows received in the playoffs contribute to a suspension. So if a player receives their 15th yellow in the first playoff semi, they would not be suspended because of it
    • Red cards received in the playoffs still result in a suspension

Again, I think Gus was lucky not to get another tonight. I know he was being wound up, but ffs Gus calm it down.
I was hoping to see that incident on the highlights - he was very lucky not be cautioned but the ref had been reluctant to caution players throughout the game - possibly one of the reasons Gus lost his rag

The referee not booking their players in the first half was the reason he lost control as they knew they could get away with anything and guess what, they did

The ref tonight didn’t want to book anyone, he let loads of things go.
Everytime we had a corner the Millwall players were blocking and grappling/ holding, incredible to see really.

Sorry for delayed update, I actually was waiting to find out if Wilder got a card, but then completely forgot

Updated following Game 42 - Plymouth Argyle (A)

Harry Clarke was the only one booked, which takes him to a quite impressive 3 yellows, given how few mins he's played

Hamza Choudhury was the only one booked for the Blades, which takes him to 2 for his time with us.

Only Gus can still get a 3-match suspension, though he would need to get a yellow in each of the remaining three games

Surely we need to rest Hamer for one of these last two games with him picking up a booking today.

If he picks one up against Stoke, he has to be rested v Blackburn
What happens if he picks up a red in one of the next two? Or two yellows in a game?

Will the regular ban upgraded due to his avalanche of other yellows and earlier bans?

Gus, Robbo and Brewster were our recipients of yellows today

Regarding two yellows in a game, only the first counts on the yellow card count. This is how the rule is written, and indeed it is what happened when Souttar picked up two v Sunderland at home. His red card count went up by one and so did his yellow card count, even though he was shown two.

Regarding getting a straight red, he would face the relevant penalty. He hasn't received a red this season, so there would be no compounding ban

just said Hamer and Ahmy need to miss the last two games
No need for Hamer to miss the Stoke game. If he gets through it without a booking, he's fine to play v Blackburn. If he gets booked v Stoke, he will be rested v Blackburn to avoid the ban

also might me an idea to rest him and Campbell let them come back fresh when we play Coventry again

Important that we rest Hamer for remaining 2 games in my opinion.

Can't afford to have him suspended or injured for playoffs.

Jefferson Caceres your time to shine has come son.

Just for clarity,,, there are some posts going around on X saying any yellow card suspension Gus may receive does not carry over into the playoffs.

The source for this is people who have read the same FA Essentials slide I have previously posted in this thread, including a ref who told a young lad, who then posted on twitter and has a decent blades following.

They are misinterpreting the “cut off” column on the slide. I was unsure how to interpret it myself with consideration to the playoffs, so I contacted the FA months ago, who clarified it, and this is what I put in my bullet points after I update the cards table each game

If he gets his 15th yellow v Blackburn, he will get a three game suspension, which will carry into the playoffs

One question that I had, which was never answered fully, was what happens if a manager picks up his third yellow during a playoff game. Would he get a one game touch line ban, or is it the same as with players, and accumulation cuts off after game 46 is complete? I don’t know. All I know is their wording is “At any point in the season, managers who have received 3 yellow cards will be suspended for 1 game”

If Gus gets a yellow on each of the next 2 games then someone at the club wants shooting.

It's arguable if he should even play - and if he gets booked tonight he shouldn't be within 20 miles of BDTBL when we play Blackburn.

Updated following Game 45 - Stoke City (A)

Sam McCallum picked up his first yellow of the league season, with Campbell also picking one up for a dive. Gus joined us in the away end, so ...

NOBODY can pick up a yellow card suspension for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs. Only red cards will lead to suspensions

In case anyone was wondering, nobody in the Blackburn squad will need to be rested or be careful due to their yellow card status. Blackburn's Hamer equivalent is Tyrhys Dolan, who has collected a mere 12 this season in the league

If he's selected watch Travis for Blackburn, I think there's a good chance he could see red tomorrow. Gus is no danger compared to this lunatic.

I think I read somewhere that the lunatic may be on our potential acquisition list this summer.

He certainly sounds like he fits the profile.

Updated following Game 46 - Blackburn Rovers (H)

Rob Holding and Tom Davies were judged to be very naughty boys, so were our two receivers of yellows today.

NOBODY can pick up a yellow card suspension for the playoffs. Only red cards will lead to suspensions

I've added the season-long injured players back into the table, so we can see the whole picture of who has how many yellows. I've created two columns, one for Regular Season cards, and one for Play Off cards. In coming days I will likely add in a column for minutes played and minutes per card, and also add in red cards.

Through the summer I will again do one for our rumoured transfer targets. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I find it interesting to see how cardy we are and if we are looking to buy nice boys or absolute filth

  • At any point in the season, managers who have received 3 yellow cards will be suspended for 1 game. Does this include playoffs? I don't know for 100% sure. I asked the FA for clarification, but didn't get a response. They replied to my player questions, but not manager ones 🤷‍♂️
