A new season, but very similar deal for the EFL Championship. Source here for the below, though one wording change is very welcome, as it is now much clearer and hopefully I won't be asked every week. I like to think my feedback to them prompted this ;)

Gus looked like he really fancied a yellow, with his clumsy tackling, but nobody on either team received one tonight

Players:

  • Up to and including 19 league games played by SUFC
    • Players who have received 5 yellow cards will be suspended for 1 game
  • Up to and including 37 league games played by SUFC
    • Players who have received 10 yellow cards will be suspended for 2 games
  • Up to and including 46 league games played by SUFC
    • If a player receives 15 yellow cards in the 46-game regular season, they will be suspended for 3 games
    • If a player receives 20 yellow cards in the 46-game regular season, a regulatory commission will determine their punishment
  • In the EFL Championship Playoffs
    • Any suspensions received in the 46-game regular season will carry over into the playoffs, including the final. So if a player receives their 15th yellow in game 45, they would miss game 46 and both playoff semis
    • No yellows received in the playoffs contribute to a suspension. So if a player receives their 15th yellow in the first playoff semi, they would not be suspended because of it
    • Red cards received in the playoffs still result in a suspension

Hamer, Campbell and Soumare all with a yellow today. Hamer's tally may not matter if the rumour mongers are to be believed

Andre gets his first of the season, Sydie gets his second, and Gus is already out to a flying start, gathering his 3rd yellow after only 4 games 🤷‍♂️

The coaches were coaching constantly all game from the side-line, like I have never seen before - a sure sign that the players absolutely don't 'get it' yet. In doing so, Selles found himself halfway toward the corner flag and getting a telling off from the 4th official, then the ref went over to him to do the same. Did anyone see whether he got booked?

* Some stat sites have Campbell getting a yellow v Millwall, and some don't. The live commentator said he did, but I think it was mis-seen, and I'm not adding it. Hopefully it never matters

I had a 33-1 bet that Peck and Robinson would get booked. According to footmob, the Beeb, and opta, he did get booked, but it doesn't show up on the footmob events page. Wonder what happened there?

I've added a yellow for Selles (Boro) and Campbell (Millwall) based on the replies. Cheers fellas.

How many yellows did Hamer get last season?

In the league, he received 13 yellows last season, no reds

Last league season Hamer received a yellow on average every 257 minutes. This season it is one every 120 minutes which, if he played the same number of minutes this season as last (3366), would lead to 28 yellows 🤣
