Building a team on loans maybe. Having 1 or 2 is fine.

People choose not to remember the Greg Halfords of this world because its easier to create a drama remembering Nosworthy

I bet you'd rather remember Halford, as your trumpeting of the sale of Blackman / replacement by Forte didn't prove to be one of our brighter moves, did it?

:D

I thought Jonathan Forte was immense ;)
He might've been, but what happens in the privacy of your home is your own business ;)

On the pitch for the Blades he was fooking shite.

Anyway, Murphy was Blackmans replacement.

Sign Freeman up, but as a player to slot into our evolving team, not to replace Dr Who

Well Murphy's been banging them in for fun, so that's worked out a treat.

And the Doctor, not Dr Who!

Changed your mind yet? ;)

Haha! I knew this would come back and bite me.

He is clearly a very competent player at this level but so is McDonald, though I would "do an Arsenal" and say while KMac is valued at £750,000, Wells can be £750,001 because he is slightly better and I'm feeling sly :)

No direct link with us but Stevenage will listen for offers for Freeman in the JTW, has been linked with a few Championship Clubs but he is one I would love to see at BDTBL......Murphy out and Freeman in would be awesome business......go get him HRH.

If Championship clubs are interested he will go there, why would he want to play for a lower mid table L1 side

For some players who want to move, it maybe the whole package that helps them choose between clubs who are after their services.
We are no great shakes at the moment, but with our backers we do offer the potential to make some good progress in the coming seasons, that would have been a major factor in NC taking the role. If he can see it, then other players can be persuaded to join the club ahead of Championship sides.

Would be a good move if we can make it happen.

Never understood the fuss about Freeman. He had one good game against us three years ago but since then has done very little in a poor Stevenage side. We can and should aim higher.

^^^what he said. I totally agree Balham, I don't know why so many on here still get all gooey over this guy.

Next!

Just seen on sky sports news that Stevenage have turned down two offers for Freeman from other league one clubs.

His name has been mentioned numerous times in the past as a potential target. I wonder if we are in for him?

Fingers crossed. My money would be on Bradford pre-using their Nakhi Wells money

According to some on Twitter (questionable reliability) it's Rotherham and Peterborough. I would like us to bid though.

Rotherham are also rumoured to be one of two clubs (other being Cov) who have made a bid to sign Dicko, a player I would rather see at the Lane over Stead and Sammon

If it is Rotherham also bidding for Freeman, then they are really going for it

Why do they need Freeman when they have Pringle, who is probably better at this moment.

I was impressed with him a couple of seasons back, but not sure he is the player he was. I'm guessing that a move would do him good and perhaps freshen him up a bit with a new challenge. Stevenage have also gone off the boil since they first came up. So I'd say there is now a question mark over him as a player.

The next point is where would be play? He seems to have played a number of roles for Stevenage, but having not seen enough of him I don't know where his best position is. But we're now entering a period where, if anything players like Baxter, Flynn and Murphy are filling the attacking mid/ wing slots. Cuvellier isn't getting a game and the bench seems to have options.

Up front and the defence are priorities for now, getting a proven goalscorer, attacking fullbacks and perhaps further centre half back up.

So would he be a luxury? Would he be an expensive bench warmer? Or would he just be another flop in a long line?

Alternatively, he's young, showed talent in this division and could keep some lads on their toes. He's also got something to prove and could be the ideal addition to the squad.

Im sure he was on the club's radar previously and undoubtably he still is.

If we're not one of the sides interested in him then I'm sure we'll make an approach
