I think as Deadbat and most on this thread have posted, we are in such a bad place at the moment. We all accept Wilder has been dealt a bad hand, and I for one, thought if anyone could get us out of it he could. I am now of the opinion he has completely lost his ability to motivate, organise, coach or tactically develop players. Is it because he has lost Knill, or does he really care anymore? He sticks with old pros, he can't manage the new young athletic players. He has given us some of the best times in recent years, but he us now past his sell by date. Put him out to pasture, on his salary, not paid off, and for me, bring in Hecky as a caretaker until the end of the season. He, at least, develops young athletic players. Cooper, Seriki, Peck,, Baptiste, Donovan, yes Arblaster, One, Marsh maybe one or two academy stars? Add in Kitching, McCallam, Philips, maybe Tanganga and who knows Cannon? For me, this is the core of the squad to build on.

All you have to do is look at that line-up , to know what's coming

3 CBs ok.
2 WBs in Choudhury & RND
2 DMs in Peck & Philips
1 broken AM son-in-law

That's 80% of the outfield without any kind of progressive attacking threat whatsoever.
All you're going to get is sideways farting around in your own half , followed by a big aerial punt upfield.
To whom ?

2 old slow-coaches without a burst of pace in them or a chance of winning a header.

FFS Wilder , just look at who you've recruited.

A load of boringly slow old lags whom no one could expect to compete.
And that doesn't even cover Ayew , nor Campbell , whose contract you've extended.
And who do we see today imposing himself on our rickety midfield but Soumare - another younger developing player we once had.

And you leave our one speedy attacking player Donovan on the bench !

You've presided over a complete shitshow on the football side of things.
Clubs with far weaker budgets and fewer saleable assets than us look much better at playing football.
And at the end of this season , we'll have hardly any contracted players who we might develop.

You have totally shafted us for the foreseeable future.
I just don't know what's been going on in your mind.
Have you thrown your toys out coz you failed to get us promoted before the end of parachutes ?
And now you want to leave us where you found us , dysfunctional in L1 ?

I think 6.5 is very generous for Tanganga. He should have dealt with the ball for the winner and for me he loses marks every week for appearing to be a very weak captain

I disagree, Kitching should have dealt with the winner, stood appealing for off side, costing him valuable seconds and then when he was in a position to challenge Gallagher as he shot, just inexplicably dangled his left leg towards him as a token gesture?

This happens so many times at both ends of the pitch, players using their favoured foot irrespective of the natural dynamics of the situation. If Gallagher is to Kitchings left, he should swivel to tackle or block with his right foot for the strongest impact. Similarly when balls come into the oppositions box from your right you should be finishing with your left and vice versa, not contorting your body to try and kick it with your preferred foot.

I really don’t know how you even become a professional footballer without being comfortable with the ball on either foot??

We were absolutely shocking again , third game in a row we’ve crested absolutely nothing .
We have no discernible pattern of play & its though we are just set up to stifle the opposition , we are a horrible watch at the ptrsent.
We are gonna be in big trouble this season if we continue the way we are

Was travelling all day so didn't see the game. When I checked the score and match stats on the BBC site I got an image of how the game and the performance had been and your summary confirmed it 100%. Sounds like it was a typical Wilder mark III performance that we have seen so many times already and continue to see on a regular basis. Probably the most worrying thing was he seemed to think the performance was ok and we are on the right lines. I keep hearing people say we should have enough to avoid relegation (that is probably the hight of our ambitions at the moment) but it could be tight and if we get a points deduction we are in serious trouble. The only positive at the moment is we are on 9 points when we probably should be on 3 if we are being generous.

Thankfully we have a 3 week break now, not that I expect anything different when they come back but at least we get a break from watching this turgid football. Maybe some of the players to come back will improve us but lets not pretend these are significant game changers.

I called it out in the Birmingham City match thread half way through the second half,it's Anti Football,and I had seen enough by then.
Sitting back to invite pressure is one of the biggest crimes in football,the only time it's acceptable is if you have fast skilful players who can quickly transit the ball from back to front on the break.Obviously,this is impossible for us because the way this squad that has been assembled is incomprehensible and unforgivable at this level,it's a Surrender Squad producing unwatchable football that they are not even buying into or believing it can work because they don't seem to trust their manager or even each other.
To turn this around at this point of the season will involve a transformation of all involved in a way that was achieved by Warnock when he first walked into a similar situation,but probably even that squad had more potential in both ability and fitness than these,plus he didn't have to work with transfer windows.

Didn’t watch it but it doesn’t sound too good. I’ve been quite apathetic about us this season but I’m increasingly concerned we might get relegated especially when that 12 points deduction happens.
I’ve always been a Wilder fan and recent history tells us that changing the manager is not always the best policy, plus I wouldn’t trust our owners to get anyone decent.
However, something needs to change otherwise we are in deep trouble.
