FA Cup

I’d like to measure this teams credentials against a Premier League outfit. I know we’d still be well off it at this stage, but it would be nice to see which individuals wouldn’t look out of place against Prem opposition.

Another round, another match where the higher ranked team wins in extra time.

In previous years Kettering would have earned a fully deserved replay and got another money-spinning tie on TV.

Instead the professional team's superior fitness eventually wins out and their journey ends here.

Getting rid of replays has absolutely killed this competition.

The competition has been in decline for decades, you could probably say it started when the FA let Man U pull out of the cup to go to Brazil for what turned out to be a winter break.

“Kelly Somers will present Monday’s draw live on BBC Two from 7pm (GMT), alongside Mark Hughes and Dion Dublin, who will pick out the team balls.

Third Round ties will be played on the weekend of Saturday, January 11.

Harborough Town miraculously made it to 3-3 at full time away at Reading.

Then the higher ranked team turned it on in extra time and won. Again.

The lack of replays are depriving non league clubs of invaluable money and memories. It's a disgrace that seems like a worse decision by the day - if that were possible.

3rd round draw on Monday evening on BBC2

Who do you want?

It's easy to want it over with so we can focus our limited squad on the league, but Hecky got us to Wembley and got us up in the same season, and it was lovleh

Spurs or Newcastle away would be my preference.
Newcastle I would like home or away.
Not saying we would win ,but I’m more than certain it wouldn’t be an 8-0 drubbing and we’d give them a good game.
Football is all about confidence and unlike last season we now have a winning mentality.

Away to Tottenham (so we can find out lost fan), Orient or Peterborough (so we can thank them for Burrows)

The Maddie effect had much to do with that result, just like the George one against Leeds and Boro.

No replays which is something, it's a difficult one as if you lose in round 3 you get the extra weekend off in round 4 which could be beneficial to the squad. Although I don't like to see us lose, not overall bothered about it this season. As long as we aren't playing a side that are up for it too much lets just play it out and see. Least Hollywood FC aren't in it

Agreed, but to nitpick we do have a match slated in for the 8th February, which is 4th Round weekend, at home to Pompey. So if both of us lose in the 3rd Round, that match would go ahead.

Any ball 45-64 and a home tie

Any team that can have a competitive game with the below players will do me because lets face it last thing we need is a strong opposition for our starting 11 and more congestion in fixtures. Some tired legs in our squad already with festive period extremely busy and its paramount 8-9 out of our starting 11 get a rest.

A Davies

Seriki
Robinson
RND
McCallum

Peck
Shackelton

Brooks
T Davies
Brewster (if fit)

One

You could argue that Ahmedhodzic, Campbell could feature due to suspensions allowing rest already and kieffer moore coming back fit but id rather take a chance and rest everyone. plus the likes of McCallum are just unfortunate that our defence has been so good and do genuinely deserve minutes.

Salford, Lincoln, Morecambe or Mansfield away.

I doubt any club in the Premier League or involved in the top or bottom of any league below that will play anywhere near their strongest team and that includes us Unfortunately that what the FA cup has become.

The Blades will be ball number 3️⃣4️⃣ in this evening's The Emirates FA Cup third-round draw.

The draw will take place at 7pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer. 📺
