The point I'm trying to make is that football fans try to wind one another up and they know some fans get emotionally attached to people that are no more than employees of the club , that we never meet have no physical connection to and do not know personally nor do they know us, If they made the same comment about someone who worked in the local co op that you saw as often as baldock , presumably 3 times a fortnight at best with no actual personal contact and more than likely never met or had any interaction with would you start a discussion on an internet forum ?

I was at all the pigs games in the early 90s, sat on kop, never heard that chant, similarly never heard the alleged racist slurs against Brian Deane when he scored for Leeds.

That said as alluded to above we have some idiots who probs would sing that but I'd imagine not singing in a majority.

Have been shown the below disgusting screenshot from a forum called ‘Owlsonline’ - these are on a thread discussing the death of GB. Think there may be bans etc incoming as both alias’ real names are known to a lot of people already.
With this and the Facebook posting mocking GB from a Wednesday fan earlier in the week it seems we may have to prepare ourselves for some chants etc on Sunday.
I know it’s a minority but they really do seem to have utter scumbags in their fanbase.

I’d be very surprised if it was anything more than a tiny minority.

Back in the early to mid ‘90’s the major sources of information were 4 terrestrial tv channels and newspapers, with a few having sky to get Sky news. The Balkan conflict was of course big news, but nuances of it weren’t really big talking points in boozers, were they?

The chances of a chant about dying with Muslims taking off on a snowy midweek game in a 3 sided ground were quite low… not calling bullshit on it but don’t recall it.

Before neuro diversity existed people didn't get offended at everything, and fans used to sing songs and have banter with each other, no ear protectors, nothing like that , there was foul language, pushing and shoving on the kop, and at 5pm it ended no one cared no one wrote to newspapers or cried to phone in radio it was just accepted, part and parcel of the game , but yes the game moves on the 70s were worse than the 80s , 80s worse than 90s and so on
