For me, however, snidey comments like this on social media poking fun at the fact that a person has just died is the pits. I can understand people getting carried away and joining a distasteful chant in the mix of emotions of a football match. I don't like it but I can understand why it happens. Posts like these though are on another level.

Maybe I’m sensitive at the moment as my Mrs has been diagnosed with stage 3 oral cancer (in her early 40s) and has major surgery on Wednesday before chemo etc. I look at my 5 year old who’s potentially looking at losing his mum and think how we’d feel if someone made these comments about cancer etc and it made me reflect on what George’s family will feel when people write this shit.
I just don’t think we should turn a blind eye to it- bad things happen when good people do nothing is the saying isn’t it?

Thanks mate, the surgeon says the aim is to make her cancer free and they wouldn’t be doing the op if they didn’t have a realistic chance. She’s never smoked, not a big drinker etc. started out as an ulcer on her tongue in August that didn’t heal and luckily she had a dentist check up booked and they referred her. Surgery is to have part of her tongue removed which they then rebuild using muscles and nerves from your arm. Amazing what they can do. While I’m on the subject- lads and lasses, never ignore stuff with your health that you think will just go away with time- always get yourself checked out when someat doesn’t feel right.

It’s hard to get an appointment these days, I think that’s why a lot of people especially blokes just fuck it off and try and just get on with it hoping it goes away. I'm not sure how old you are but I remember being at a derby in 92 or 93 and Paul warhurst went down injured and the entire John street terrace myself included was singing warhurst warhurst swallow your tongue as he had almost died on the pitch from a head injury earlier in the season, so better or worse ?

I was on the West Terrace or the seats above them for the derby games in that era. I’m sure that I would have heard a chant that everybody sang.
First I’ve heard of it is 32 years later.

I’ve never heard anything like that to milosevic, I’m surprised anyone lacking the intelligence to sing about it would have the intelligence to know about it. I always found the ‘he’ll fucking murder ya’ chants that were celebratory for Vidic by Man U deeply uncomfortable.
