Proof (if there was still any doubt) that Scottish football is the absolute pits.

Plyer from the worst Premier League defence in history goes to a Champions League team.

LOLZ.
Or that the PL is absolutely flooded in top quality players from every corner of the globe. Both probably true.

From Brum city to Premier League a step too too far. Glttl, Celtics play 90% on the front foot in the league he'll do great. Champions League....good luck fella

Agree......it's interesting how people sum up players.

Think Trusty is decent, he was excellent in the Championship for Birmingham but seemed to consistently struggle for us in the Premier League.

My concern about wasn't so much ability, it was more about mentality. When he's up against it, his head drops too easily.
However as you've said....he'll not face too much defensive pressure playing for Celtic as he won't be expected to be defending for long sessions.
As you said it wouldn't surprise me if his confidence grows and he plays really well up there.
He's a nice bloke, so wish him well.

One for the ‘we saw them coming’ thread

He’s loads better than the comments on here give him credit for. The team was totally shot last year, he’s athelir9c relatively young good in the air.

He has shown no evidence of any athleticism or aerial ability in our time with us. We were totally shot and he was one of our regulars so a significant part of us getting dicked every week.

He was weak, lost 50-50s, positionally all over the place and not quick at all. He was abysmal in possession and would never pass forward. We saw v Barnsley how poor he was when he was asked to carry it or take responsibility. He'd just give it to Anel.

Amazed we have got our money back. Expect him to struggle even in the SPL and be back in the US before his contract runs out.

Reminded me of Tebily! We did sell him to Celtic too! :D

Did nothing in his time here to warrant dismay at his loss. Career wise he must be daft.
Yeah , last ,3 career moves he's gone from never getting into arsenal team to a loan to lower championship at Birmingham, to a full season in premier league, then to champions league at Celtic , what is he playing at the fucking idiot

Good piece of business for us. Shame we couldn't use the money to bring a young, up and coming cb. Maybe they're not out there, still on to Watford where we should have enough to beat them.

Going from the worst Premier League team to the worst Champions League team, he should feel right at home.

Good luck to him though. Always carried himself well. Not the greatest defender, but a great guy by all accounts.

Good luck to the lad. Glasgow will be an education.
Another player that suffered PTSD from last season’s horrors, so he needed the move and should do well.

I reckon this will be a good move for everyone. Trusty's biggest problem for me isn't ability, but more his mental state. He came into the first team when injuries had well and truly set in, when the poor form truly began and the players confidence and belief was completely shot. He was a pig thrown to the lions. Some players seem to have recovered from this and gotten their confidence back, which is why Wilder chose the pre-season games that he did to help rebuild their belief and confidence, but Trusty has carried his lack of belief and confidence into the new season. If he doesn't get over it then career over. If he does then maybe he'll turn out to be the player we hoped he could be.

Good piece of business this. He's a lower Championship level defender. Hell do fine at Celtic as they don't need to defend.

GLTTL

Making £1m on him is good business.

Another one of the car crash recruitment of summer 2023/24 gone, money recouped and enough for a round of drinks and some Yorkshire tapas. Good times 👍
