I note that you were rarely more than a mark apart, which reflects how dismal the season has been. Funny that the biggest dispute seemed to be about Luke Thomas. Personally, I'm with Roygbiv on that one. Yes, Thomas was a back up for a Championship team, but he had played 50 PL games since 2020. He should have been a hell of a lot better than he was.

As an aside it is truly impressive how the club were unable to find even a semi competent regular option at LWB, despite signing 2 players specifically to play the position and having other in house options. What a shambles.

Anyway, let's never speak of this season again.

Afternoon S2, back with another pod in which Roygbiv and I pay tribute to the Blades careers of Basham, Baldock and Norwood. Hard to do justice to those three but we gave it a go. Also at the end we each make three predictions for Euro 2024 with a chip butty on the line for the winner of each one.

We sort of folded it into the player ratings one so yes, it was very much under 3 minutes which feels fitting. He wasn't good or bad enough to merit further discussion.

Listened to the pod today and thoroughly enjoyed it as usual.
I was a huge fan of Norwood in those first couple of seasons for us and as you said, some of his passing was superb. One game that sticks out for me was the Wigan home game which we won 4-2. He sent over a great free kick which Stearman headed across goal for Billy to score the second, he then played a superb ball to Leon Clarke who then set Billy up for our third and then the ball he played in the lead up to the fourth was sublime, it was like a golf wedge pass with the outside of his foot that curled round the defender for Enda who lobbed over another player and Billy again finished.
I think you do him a disservice in the 9th place prem season. He was actually involved in quite a few goals if indirectly. It was his superb corners that lead to the own goals scored at Everton by Mina and at Palace when Guaita dropped the ball over the line.
 
Hi S2, forgot to post this earlier for some reason. Anyway, Roygbiv and I did another episode in which we have some BIG FEELINGS about the current inactivity at United. We also talk about England for about 30 mins at the end but feel free to switch off then if you DGAF.

Good summary on the Blades although you might get called ‘bedwetters’ or ‘fannies’, England I’m a bit “meh” with. If they do well then great, if not I’ll watch the other (more entertaining) teams get to the final instead! Given a choice between England winning the Euros and Blades having a half decent season next season (top 6) I’d take the latter.

There’s a point for me about whether those running the club day to day (Bettis, Wilder) think they will be here in a few weeks/months if the take over goes through and what impact that’s had on (lack of) planning and action. Do they actually give much of a damn?
 
That was a depressing listen for my drive back from Bristol!

Not sure I’m as bad as “Angry Ben” as all transparency goes out of the window when you have a foreign based owner and there’s not a lot we can do about it.

I have just wasted an hour listening to your whining, whinging podcast, the pair of you are like two 2-year olds who have lost their dummies, and I quote, "im not going to wrexham game, we have no players," said 5 weeks prior to season starting.
And I quote. "I have paid over £400 to watch a team of under 21's," these are just two of your pearlers you pair of snowflakes.
Get a grip you puffs.
 
I honestly think with k.o.time changes & dates sky will eventually empty stadiums, and long term football will become a thing of the past!
