I think we all feel the same quite honest. I'd almost not want a takeover given how long it will take and then probably just fall by the wayside again. That's how I feel anyway. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Maybe its a case of targets knowing about the takeover and waiting to see if it goes through as they think they may receive a better contract offer from the new owners.

I’d say it’s more that you don’t let the existing owners sign you up to a multi million pound contractual commitment that you then have to honour.
The player will know what’s happening and presumably have a better idea of timescales for completion. Some may decide to keep looking for better options

It's bullshit. We have cleared tens of thousands of pounds per week off the wage bill with all the players who have been released. There is money there to be spent on wages and this guy is on a free and looked decent at PL level. He'd be a no brainer but he will have other options that his agent is pursuing.

So he may not be coming but that's not down to a potential takeover. It's just an easy story to make as no matter who buys us and who the manager is this lad would be a good addition to the first 11, especially on a free.

Weeks and months? Isn't it with the EFL? Which usually, while it can tske a bit, is rather straightforward?

There are some real drama queen's on here. Doom and gloom at every opportunity.

There will be a cut off point where United will start to recruit players this summer irrespective of the proposed club takeover. We aren't at that stage yet. Instead we are at the stage where a potential takeover deal is with the EFL to overview and give their sanction to, and in the meantime, we can't bring in anyone unless the player appears on both lists (the seller and the buyers) as the players will be different on each.

It is odd that we can't / won't move for players on a free transfer whilst the takeover is in limbo.

Surely our rebuild will involve a lot of free agents coming in regardless of ownership... so do they have different ideas about what players they want to bring in?
If so, could this mean Wilder is at odds with Des Taylor on players?

Or, are we so skint without the takeover that we can't afford to bring in players like Osho on a free?
