One man does not constitute a mob. If the whole team surrounded the ref at that point at Spurs he has a decision to make if he's going to send someone off, and the decision will be not to card anyoneMcBurnie tried that and got sent off

This post hits the nail on the head. Some soft shite on here, loved to know how everyone would have been that first year in top flight under bassett when we didnt win game until christmas and were getting beat every week. Might be the same this season but i dont doubt that they're trying out there, they're just not good enough, that's not their fault.
No point risking financial future of the club at a tilt at staying up. lets be honest the prem is shite. Its a closed shop at the top end, you cant break in without billions or being state sponsored. VAR means you cant get away with roughing up teams or scoring the odd offside goal here or there, or mcburnie smashing someone at far post and getting away with it.
The sooner the authorities get on with organising a european (world??) super league (which is going to happen without a shadow of doubt) then most football leagues can reset themselves and there can be meaningful competition. Top levels in most of the major leagues are just dull as anything in terms of a competition.
They tried but they weren’t quick enough. Lack of fitness and cramping up before they could mob-upOne man does not constitute a mob. If the whole team surrounded the ref at that point at Spurs he has a decision to make if he's going to send someone off, and the decision will be not to card anyone
You're suggesting the fans should sit through an 8-0 pasting at home? Fucking crackers some of our fansReally? We’re you there at the home game against Newcastle at full time, having given it your all for 90+ minutes? Didn’t think so. ( if you were in that tiny minority, then my apologies).
Thousands and thousands of fans preferred to flounce off home during the second half. I wasn’t expecting a glowing rendition of support after such a shitshow, and I’m no advocate of ‘happy clapping’, but a demonstration of solidarity on such a bad night isn’t a lot to ask. Basham for one, such a fine servant of our club, deserved so much better from us, on what was probably his last Premier League showing at the Lane in a Blades shirt.
I do agree that our support in general is superb, particularly given what we are having to watch. I also think that our team needs our fans more than ever right now - the players are at an extremely low ebb of confidence, which is badly affecting our performances. If you want a stark example of how confidence affects form, have a look at the England ODI team - players who’ve won multiple World Cups currently don’t look like they know what they are doing, simply because they have temporarily lost self belief and collective confidence.
My point is that now isn’t the time for futile and embarrassing protests . It’s time for everybody associated with the club to step up to the mark, and do everything humanly possible to win a football match. If we can get a win or two under our belts, restore some confidence and pride in our performances, and play to our potential, then we have a chance. That’s worth fighting for, isn’t it?
To be clear, I also said that the team need to turn up and show the same fight. I’m not abdicating responsibility on their behalf - at the end of the day, it is their actions that will determine our collective fate this season. Let’s help them to get that right, and they will then in turn help us to start enjoying our football again.
Up the Blades.
And so you shouldI bow down to you been a bigger Blade.

Bassett was a very different kind of manager to Hecky. We get it that some of you hate the Premier League, but that doesn’t mean the rest of us have to nod along whilst we watch every team under the sun roll us over and tickle our bellies.
Under Bassett we still put it about and showed some fight and desire rather than looking wetter than an otters jockstrap.
Hi Stegosaurus herePropper Blades stick by the club no matter what. No point in getting on the players' backs or the manager and coaches. Anger should be towards that prince and his board they have got us into the mess we are in. Hold on a minute they are never here are they, no statement or owt from them, just bleeding silence. typical that the prince is nowhere to be seen.
Where were you at the Walsall game, and don't say you weren't born then because that is NO EXCUSE!Anyway I was at SUFC lowest post war crowd game against Palace in 86/87 so My credentials are up there. Although I wasn't at THE port Vale game.![]()
