Shirt Sponsor

My post was intended to be more in defence of the gambling industry than a club beating one. Think it's interesting what's seen as 'acceptable' and what's not when it comes to gambling and some of the discourse around shirt sponsorship is a little misguided.

There are definitely some more interesting 'workarounds' when it comes to compliance with Sharia law and gambling than the ones related to trading.

Well l think l’m in the minority here not being au fait with Islamic Law but Gambling is Haram. What the sponsor does clearly isn’t.

Club beating sticks (Sharia Range) £9.

I appreciate I can’t back a horse on their website or place a bet on who will be booked next but there the trading stocks etc in some way gambling. Their own website comes with a warning about how 78% of the companies users lose money.

Providing the logo isn't a swastika or an owl, they can slap what they want on if they're paying us enough.

I might draw the line at Getafe's Burger King meme shirt

Hate to disagree but this is an actual page from their website:

Do you really think the gaming industry needs defending against our owner and his decision not to use a gambling sponsor? But, fair enough if that’s what you meant. It’s not hard to think that some posts scrabbled to suggest The Great Satan is a hypocrite.

Any credible info on the size of the package? Oo-er.

Sorry if it's out there in plain site and I've not seen it. Just logging off from work.

Think the issue with how it looks on the shirt is that the logo is frankly crap.

Wouldn't look good on any shirt.

The logo looks cheap and glossy, when fitted to the shirt. Like when you can iron a photo onto a t-shirt.

We really must be due some good news soon though: no investment, lose star player, injuries, slow recruitment, mediocre kits, cheap looking sponsors...

Summing this pre-season up to a tea, we have a cheap looking sponsor, on a bland looking kit, made of lesser quality materials. Can't get more bespoke than that.

I've worked in and around sports betting for almost 30 years and I think it sometimes gets unfairly kicked when other forms of gambling seem to get off scot free.

You never have to look too hard for examples of hypocrisy when it comes to attitudes about gambling.

The industry isnt helping itself atm with this affordability bollocks. Theres numerous of examples of firms exploiting the checks to get rid of winning punters.

How is it possible that I’m stake restricted on sports betting with certain firms but they’d be fine with me doing my bollocks on the casino games and slots?

I’ve no objection whatsoever to a bookie sponsoring us. To be clear.

Do you think he’s a hypocrite then?

Dear God that is awful can you buy without the sponsor logo ? 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
I've ordered the away shirt of DH Gate before the sponsor was announced I'm hoping it comes without it. I only bought it off DH gate as I don't wear the shirts out an about just moping about house so £13 for a shirt I really like is better than 60+ when it will hardly be worn.

Looks terrible, the colour is too close to red and having it on a thick red stripe exacerbates the awfulness
