Shirt Sponsor

The logo has managed to ruin a great 3 shirt line up. Even the “boring” grey one could have been a classic in my view in the fullness of time.

Going to opt for a warm up shirt instead. Jazzy and no sponsor

The industry isnt helping itself atm with this affordability bollocks. Theres numerous of examples of firms exploiting the checks to get rid of winning punters.

How is it possible that I’m stake restricted on sports betting with certain firms but they’d be fine with me doing my bollocks on the casino games and slots?
I know someone who put 2k on at the horses. Won £10k and now they want to know where the £2k has come from and won’t pay out until he does. Didn’t ask when he put the bet on and I’m pretty sure wouldn’t ask if he had lost..

How many home shirts would we typically sell?

A damn sight more without that sponsor on or even more with Laver on the front.

Anyway this new sponsor has annoyed me so much that I forgot we sold Ndiaye. 😄 🤦‍♂️

If enough people get at the guy on the left - Paul Reeves - there is a very slim chance they may rethink it… GO

Is this like the Twitter and Facebook commercial acumen of “should of got Adidas”, “how did they not know it should be Lavers”?

Paul rocks up to the next meeting with his gaffers… “great news lads, Randox pulled out, but I’ve managed to get Laver to take it on and we’ve ripped up the Errea contract to pay Kappa to do it… only cost us 1.5x the Trusty spend.”. “My Twitter research suggests, we’ll lose 12.8% fewer sales to DHGate sellers”.

Are you drunk?

Normally I'd agree with you here on this one. Although I think the question needs asking if its possible to at least get the sponsor logo amended so it looks better on the shirt?

I expect the club would actually like to sell the kit rather than be left with tons of stock.

No chance unfortunately. You’d like to think they’d consult a few people on these things before gluing (ruining) million pounds worth of stock

Don't get it. Sponsors are about revenue for the club, they all look shit, never seen one for any club that made a shirt look better. All shirts look better with no sponsor, aint going to happen, so within the parameters take the biggest deal. I'd wager the non-sales of shirts due to sponsor are negligible.

Next season will be interesting when the betting firms are off limits. Threads like this all over the internet.

Just ping him an e-mail with this.

Breaking: He might have already seen; as well as seeing the logo, mock ups and the printed thing :)

I agree it could look better, as it could every year… I’m always happy to feedback and conduit feedback, but a commercial agreement isn’t a vote for your favourite unfortunately :)

Look, just get him on the blower and tell him to sort it ahhhht! 😄

£6m a season is great, but how much do the club stand to miss out from in shirt sales?

I only hope it doesn't look as bad on the away shirt

Ultimately, surely the payee gets final say on design? Can be a bit of negotiation, but if you're paying a wedge to advertise your company you give the final approval.

In a minority seemingly, but I dont think it looks too bad, and certainly isn't the monstrosity that some are making out. It doesn't ruin the shirt, though admittedly it certainly doesn't enhance it either and I prefer the Utd shirts to have no sponsor. Ultimately though they are paying a decent wedge of coin (£6m for this season I hear) to our club to have that on the shirt and it's a commercial decision. That's a fair wack of money to have an inconvenience on our replica shirts. Put it another way, that brand being on the SUFC shirt is paying for us to have the new lad Trusty in our side this season. Some people really seem to love to be outraged on social media. Shirts and sponsor fine with me (though they should look at some replica shirts not having shirt sponsors on for kids who have autism and sensory issues with certain materials touching their skin).

I suppose it would help if we knew the sponsor prior to designing the shirt to make sure everything looks as good as possible.

But we didn’t so tough shit, the sponsor is paying us a lot of money so they need to be happy with how their logo looks.

Nah, just tell em to double what they are paying and their logo is shit and needs to either not be seen or be completely redesigned :)

It’s weird though - surely they don’t want their shirt to be the worst selling kit since League One? It’s in their interest for it to be as sellable as possible

I think the main reason they are sponsoring us is that we’re a Premier League club and the global exposure that provides.

I can’t imagine the number of shirts worn by fans around Sheffield will’ve been much of a factor.

Biggest supporter ego trip myth. They are paying for it to be seen globally on TV, shirt sales don't matter. Would you pay a few million to have a few thousand people wander around Sheffield showing it? To be brutul they dont give a toss about shirt sales.

You know when you find yourself in the unfortunate position of having to walk near the bottom of the Moor for whatever reason and you see those people who just look like they are wandering aimlessly between the bookies and Mary’s cafe in the markets and it’s the highlight of their week? They’re actually trying to figure out which award-winning trading provider, possessing more than 25+ Group years of experience and operating through different entities around the world including London, Larnaca, Beirut, Amman, Dubai, Port Louis, and others which offers highly competitive trading conditions with spreads from zero pips, zero commissions, fast execution, and no minimum deposit on 8,500+ Stocks, Forex, Commodities, Indices and ETFs from 19 global markets.

This sponsorship is a game changer for those guys.
