One thing I'd be quite insistent on bringing in if he leaves is some physicality and work rate at the top of the pitch. Without him we're very lightweight up there. Maupay is probably another one people dismiss but I think he'd fit the bill

Akpom offers more of what Ndiaye does. He's a physical presence and links up well. I don't think last season will be a flash in the pan for him and even though resale value wouldn't look too great at his age, that's not always the priority - we'd be getting him for his best years and he could save us wasting fortunes on another Brewster or two. If he did well he'd easily hold a 12m+ value for a couple of years anyway. Problem is, if he was ever to revert to previous underwhelming goalscoring form it would be most likely to happen in a team like ours this season! Fuck it, maybe just sign some solid lads in defence and midfield instead....
Would you be saying the same prior to this 'breakout season'.... at the age of 28.

One last Dance for the Prince?

We are lead to believe that the Prince loves a gamble (not the kind that his religion disagrees against). His money is modest, but he's managed to;

  • Gamble the club into his possession
  • Gamble on Wilder's recruitment while also gambling on his own (Berge)
  • Gambled on signing Anel and keeping Berge and Ndiaye when the maths suggested that he needed a takeover.

Maybe he has had enough and does want out, doesn't want to spend much and wants to at least leave us with a younger squad of potentials on his exit.

But a risk taker he is..

As the transfer deadline draws and he still has us in his possession I think the gambler in him returns for one last dance.

Or the potential new owners get closer to the takeover and they push a few buttons on recruitment.

PA isn't loaded we know that, but he is bullish on outgoings and he is a risk taker on incomings. Yes he might take out one last loan secured against the club but I'd be surprised if he doesn't take one more risk or the new owners input into a late signing.

This one would be great.

Can't wait for the Netflix documentary about PA.

I hope we're in for this lad he looks class! Would certainly give everyone a massive lift! But wasn't this rumour quashed by those close to the club?

We have got to sign Mika so that pressure is taken off Iliman and it gives opposition more than one headache they have to contend with.......thats if Iliman stays.

This wont happen without Iliman going, surely?

Are we just lining it up ready for his departure?

Looked a reyt player in Belgium, dunno how he's fared at Metz but I assume well

According to blades ramble, we are not involved.

We desperately need extra attacking options, even if illy stays we are too reliant on him.
The forwards we have, for a variety of reasons, aren't premier league standard.
Jebbo, Osula - potential but not ready yet
Mcburnie - injury prone
Traore - unknown, but sounds like will need time.

I have a growing feeling that HRH is playing the under promise, over deliver game.

Whiff of 2019 about it. We all came to believe we’d spend about £30m and in the end over two windows spent nearer £60.

I’m thinking we’ll be spending nearer £30m this summer, which would allow one buy of this type.

No other attacker unless Ndiaye goes but I know one of the players we are interested in if he leaves. He’s a decent enough player but I’m not sure if our fans will be overly excited by it. I thought we would have brought in this lcb in by now as the deals been agreed for well over a week but we seem to be the slowest club ever at getting deals over the line. People won’t have heard of him oversees player again.

Is the Lcb from a 'top 5' league?

Think your right we will be closer to spending £60 than £30m.

By attacker do you mean forward/striker or are you including midfielders in this?

Also, is that it for permanent signings re attackers, or will we still be looking at loans for that position?

Then we are fucked

All starting to feel a bit wilder second PL season

Slow business barely any signings that we are expecting to be be starters here for preseason. ( I actually think none of the signings so far are pencilled in to start.)

Injuries all ready piling up.

McCall was saying a couple of deals close, any ideas around which positions other than LCB pal?

Yeah sorry I mean like forward/strikers not attacking midfielders I’d expect one off the premier league loans to be a more attacking midfielder. I’ve said all along 2 permanents unless anything changes i.e players sold.
