I haven't once said you have more or less knowledge than me on French football 😂

Just that a) the signing doesnt really make sense
b) the french league isn't that good (it isn't, there's a reason it flirts with netherlands and portugal rather than bundesliga and laliga)
c) we are rivalling Preston to his signature

I'll give you my opinion

1) he is already a good player, yes will need a little work, but he's still young

2) he is already an upgrade on Max Lowe

3) the 5th/6th best league in the world is still a pretty good standard, plenty of top prem players have come from these sorts of leagues

4) if the fee is anything less than 4-5m it's a no brainer for me

5) just my opinion, from my ability to judge a player

Fair enough, there's no indication it's a loan to buy at this stage to me which is why I think it seems a strange deal.

The weirdest thing of all, that I can't wrap my head around, is Ryan Manning being free and us not picking him up in a position of weakness.

...because he's indicated he's not interested? Want's more in wages and signing on than we're willing to pay? There's loads of possible reasons.

Darren Smith: we will accept 6-8m from Marseille for Ndiaye
T-Blade: We're holding out for 20 mill
Darren Smith: Actually we want 20 mill from Marseille
I'm not normally one to defend El Accounto but this isn't exactly true. What he said was in response to a question on what Ndiaye's valuation was: he said Marseille would see it at £6-8m whereas Premier League would value him at £20-25m. I don't think he ever said that United valued him at £6-8m.

If this is true then I hope it puts an end to whole thing for this season. No matter how much he may want to leave(which I don't believe he does) I don't believe for a second we would let him go for 7 or 8 million. Pay up or fuck off and I don't believe Marseille will.

I also don't believe that he'd go to the likes of Forest, Everton or Fulham when he can go wherever he wants twelve months for nowt.

We are very much going down the 'rough diamonds' route. This could be a longer season than I imagined at first. Or, it might not, have to wait and see. No doubt me saying that will have people saying I'm 'pork'.

What's up with Ryan Manning is my first question? If we go down then we've got one of the very best LWB in the league. He's literally free. It's bizarre.
Apparently we spoke to Manning and he wanted to come but Hecky decided to go for this guy instead.

Darren Smith said it’s a loan to buy. I think this deal financially would be similar in cost to the Manning deal

Or we just aren't bothered about signing him? What's your point?

Our deals are being impacted by up front fees and potential downgrades in personal terms if relegated. Theres no real mystery. The former can change depending on outgoings. The latter is unlikely to change under this ownership.

We have to find players whose personal terms will fit into our potential championship wage budget. This includes "frees". The only difference under Wilder is the level of fees we would pay and the markets we are targeting. We are going to see whether the much vaunted foreign route offers much better value for money. Interesting times.

Appreciate your dedication to this post so I will drop all charges 😂
